The only possible path to peace in Ukraine

Civilised people demand an end of the aggressive, intractable wrangling by Russia and Ukraine and an arms embargo on both sides.

Can Joe Biden not consult better? Who precisely is advising him to escalate?

His counsel is the blatant nonsense which emanates from the US Department of Defense and State Department. No sane person listens to people preaching "full spectrum dominance" much less to someone who gives credence to CIA propaganda.

It seems that the Irish have taken the only proper approach to the warfare in the Slav countries, namely, humanitarian assistance only.

Irishmen, wherever you are,you can count your friends on your one hand when you are up against two imperialist aggressors such as Britain and America. They are always at the back of attacks on Russia and provocation. Many Western politicians are being prescribed cannabinoids by their doctors, something the democratically -elected President of Russia,a wise and calm man and Her Indoors in Buck House are not.

Can that idle spokesman for the Provos on RTE,Joe Duffy, not just accept that they openly give gratuitous offence to our Russian friends and their semi-democratic leaders. His antediluvian gobbledygook are deeply offensive to not just the Russian Ambassador but to our indigenous population, particularly its fighting elements.

If we present ourselves as irreconcilable foes, the Russians will treat us as mortal enemies.

Think it over,RTE Contract Managers and News Editors.

Time for change as in the slogan I gave to the CPI's Campaign for Democracy in February 1989.

As with all wars, this war evokes constant sensation and medicated ignorance for weary radio listeners and TV viewers.

As with all "War News" the aim is to wear the listener or viewer out and prepare them for violent Western intervention and the resulting deaths.

Let us take stock, those in Europe not remotely interested in military hyperbole. A war solves no problem or combination of problems. Only an unhappy and uneasy peace solves a problem such as this internecine conflict.

Let us begin with Christmas harmony, Western style, and extend it into the Eastern Orthodox Noel and beyond, and let the negotiations begin with or without Putin at the helm. He wasn't put-in to start a conventional war but to stand up for Russia's traditional friends and rebuild Russia's arsenal of modern nuclear weapons and  to deter Anglo-American aggression and intrigue.

An arm's embargo on both sides in a case of internecine strife is always the only proper policy unless one of the sides has a claim to some form of democratic legitimacy.

Active mediation is required by a neutral party which has not supplied weapons to either warring party. I think in particular of Serbia, not China, which has remained above the fray. Misleading reports by Chinese front groups try to associate Serbia with the Ukraine and,by covert means, prolong the conflict.

China has no history as international mediator or as a bi-partisan arbiter. Let China,if it seeks the filthy lucre of diplomatic glory and military fame, content itself with non-infectious peace-building in Asia.

Wishers on a star in the Morning Star and Communist Party of Britain?

Give over your moaning. We say of vicious, underhand individuals with connections to the Home Office such as the Ben Chacko,Davy Kettyles,Eugene Mc Cartan,Brid Smith,Richard Boyd-Barret and self-styled revolutionary socialists"Wise up to yourselves and leave the rest of us alone!"

Germany,1948? Ukraine,2023?

The Ukraine is not Germany BUT would people who read and write grunge reports please note,Russia had no nuclear weapons in 1948.

Bad-boy Stalin offered to surrender  East Germany if the country was demilitarised.

Call me Stalin too,but there will be no peace while Britain and America fight a proxy war against Russia. Committing anything other than armed gangs by sending their armies there would without a shadow of a doubt lead to a nuclear conflagration.

I would say to Ukrainian representatives, pull the rug from under Zelenski and sign a Non-Aggression Pact with Russia on the basis of a binding agreement on neutrality AND if you are that desperate for international investment, take the Americans off our hands. Like the Germans,we have endured them too long ordering us around and want them and their businesses to depart and not come back to our shores.

We say to friends of America:You are a bunch of thugs high on lachrymose sentimentality and idle rhetoric. We survived without the Americans before and we will survive on our own after they are gone as go they must because profit was what brought them here.

The Poles hate the Germans and Jews both and see in Russia,a Jewish power consuming the whole world regardless of whether property is held publicly or privately. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Like all anti-Semites,their views are ridiculous and they are a source of ridicule and mockery wherever they go. They never break a smile and the canardian dramas written for the Americans openly ridicule their mien, comportment and demeanour as down-at-heel 'tough guys'. For proof, look at the parallel characterisations by Bayardo of Irish, American and Ulster British hardmen on the front covers of mass interest books about the British Army or IRA.

The Russians have the measure of the Poles. Because of internal disruption caused by glasnost, the Russians do not seem to see pathetic nuisances as being largely responsible for Russia's loss of stature and grace.

When even a clown such as an Irishman like myself,in receipt of public charity to sustain himself and keep the wolf from the door, sees in the Poles 'wreckers' (Stalin) the world must come to terms with that fact.

My advice to rulers,West and East?

 Ignore the See of Peter.

Russia will deal with Poland and Germany and America "all in its own good time".

Rulers, stand clear and do not take any part in the unfolding drama and clash of arms.

Europe and Asia. London

What is to become of an enormous thriving mass of people in London if war breaks out between Asia and Europe?

Already the klaxons are sounding for international conflict in the Northern hemisphere.
