I ask myself if policemen and policewomen working undercover in call centres,shops, hospitals,social facilities and the panoply of places where we find them realise that they are policemen and policewomen.

I say,if Labour and democratic upper class politicians spend more money on primary care as they call it and NHS psychiatry without independent monitoring for criminal defamation, intimidation and hospital brutality,it will inevitably lead to you as a member of the public, someone you know or a member of your own family being consumed by the deathriders who operate the NHS engine of mayhem.

As a temporary solution to the grossly defamatory remarks being levelled at vast numbers,I am in favour of reducing spending on health and cutting doctors salaries. 

In my experience,the NHS has been largely counter-productive since 1968-9.

Our endogenous problem in Ireland 

No more money should be spent on public psychiatry without a series of independent reviews. 

I speak from a wealth of personal experience of the hospital gulags in the years after the Good Friday Agreement.

Medical terrorist activity was immediately launched by discontented housewives and jilted lovers not long after the ink dried on that agreement.

I was arrested twelve to thirteen times and a flurry of murder bids were launched against me by psychotic monsters who form the offal of all classes,most notable amongst them being Cody and Mad Dog Manley.

In 2010,I had a boot placed on the back of my neck by Aidan Rogers, one of the NHS thugs employed n the T and F Psychiatric Hospital while another,Enda Mc Crory, placed his boot at the base of my spine.

An act of contrition from the authorities after I took these medical freaks and their police 'handlers' to court in September 1999?

Not on your nelly!

Yet again,in 2015 on Campbell's orders I had my head smashed off the ground by the resident hospital psychopaths at the T and F. Mc Crory once again,the Tyrone thug with links to drunken GAA arseholes in the Tattyreagh GAA and the Gallagher FBI/NHS/ PSNI family (Tattyreagh, Omagh/ Dunluce Avenue,South Belfast)..

All NHS psychiatry should be abandoned and psychiatric hospitals shut down. As long as there is a financial incentive for layabouts such as hospital orderlies to beat people up and for doctors to poison members of the public,we will have these parasites on the public payroll. Filth breeds more filth.

Hospital orderlies defy even the most basic standards of justice and the elementary principles of law. Their behaviour would not be possible without an organised police force grounded in colonialism and a willing retinue of Irish Quislings.

The media's role in this political circus

Listen to the mock moral outrage of politicians and police and attempts to ascribe mass killings and random acts of medical violence to mental illness. Then you learn that many of our leaders are leading the charge of the light brigade.

Before the British Conservative Party took a hand in complex medical and civil matters, there was mass psychiatric incarceration. It took a Wolverhampton firebrand to set the cat amongst the pigeons.

The advocates of mass incarceration are trying to turn the clock back to the 1860's with their incessant psychobabble. We think in particular of the nonsense uttered by old BBC,Irish News,Sinn Fein,SDLP and RTE hens.

This ubiquitous chatter about mental health is entirely unnecessary,I think.

Almost all of it issues from those most at risk of a mental breakdown, namely women in the public eye.

A palliative 

Doctors and general nurses should be allowed to get on with their work uninfluenced by sterile old farm-sows such as Gildernew,O Neill, Mc Donald and those silly female know-it-all types in the political  field and faded beauty queens in the press and media. 

A prophylactic?

Because there is real, justified concern from so many members of the public and because the politicians should be prepared to confront mass hysteria, restrictions should be put in place on the proliferating parasitism of public medicine particularly the non-scientific variant, psychiatry.

On this the 36th anniversary of Gorbachev visiting Ireland,the question of universal human values once again rears its head.

In Britain there is talk of welfare reform.

I say,until the link between doctors and the state is broken there will be no improvement in welfare numbers. Welfarism and the NHS is Bevan's Svengali creation which threatens to keep us locked in an eighteenth century society. In that society policing was king. Ignore narratives,punters, about the police only coming to prominence when Peel was Home Secretary.

 There have always been police and they have all exercised prebendary powers in defiance of the Bill of Rights. 

It is on the basis of electoral reforms and the promises of the seventeenth century that parliament governs society. 

Devolving parliament's powers to the police is a sign that parliament is neither fit nor willing to govern.

Where parliament abrogates its own powers in favour of the police,the next person to be consulted will be a doctor. He will most assuredly libel and poison a conscientious objector and a dissenting voice. That is what is meant by a system of anomie and that is what we have had since Christian knights returned from Palestine to Ireland.

A backward -looking strike wave is upon us in NI

It must always be remembered that social progress in Northern Ireland is imported not endogenous so let us examine some of its outworkings and prescient costs at the present time. We should bear in mind that we need a social revolution such as occurred in England in the seventeenth century to enshrine the rights of man in law, particularly in the Constitution. With that social revolution we must curb the power of bishop,doctor Andy judge to enforce unjust laws and legal controversies on us.

The demand for harmonised percentage pay increases by consultant doctors, teachers and higher-up civil servants in NI has spread to the South,if recent media reports are to be believed.

Politicians should ignore carping consultants and managers of the ambulance service superstructure. They are involved in medical crime and open intimidation.

Instead,let us factor the nurses £1 700 one-off payment offer and 4.5% salary increase into final-salary pensions. 

My late sister's trade union,Unison,must be free to go onto hospital wards at off-peak,non-emergency times to recruit and encourage,inspire and uplift,hospital canteens being the best locations acceptable to management and nursing managers.

Let strikes be a last resort for nurses or is it to be hat-pins at dawn?

The Free State?

Let us ignore Southern medical consultants and senior doctors special pleading as we would ignore all special interest groups. They are already very well remunerated unlike the poor and unemployed down South who are barely surviving. In the unlikely event that there is real evidence of suffering or misery or want, financial help and adequate accommodation should be made available to medical specialists.Let us keep tight restrictions on male 'millies' in medical representative bodies, pharmacy and dentistry. 

Some do not do their job properly. 

Many senior doctors and experienced nurses lack moral conviction and belief in any type of provision for the health of the poor and indigent and migrant.

 Typical of that type of medical supernumerary in both jurisdictions is the Senior Registrar attached to a horse Protestant psychiatrist.

Let the Stormont Minister of Health take note. 

Doctors in the North who practise as G.P.'s? 

Don't make me laugh,Mr. Robin Swann. Those people are living off the fat of the land. 

The Minister of Health in the South?

Southern consultants who desire to engage only in private practice,Minister Donnelly?

Cut doctors' pay and salaries and establish a Social Support Fund for gifts in kind and in cash to needy cooks, cleaners, electricians, plumbers,carpenters, boilermen, drivers, groundsmen, care staff and ancillary staff and their families in association with trade unions. Tell medical professionals' trade union officials to get lost.

Honest people,speak up like even Boris Johnson did for those who have noone to represent them. 

With the recent referendum in mind...

Those who voted for Britain to leave the European Union must be rewarded higher social security benefits. They have performed an invaluable service to all of society by cutting people loose from the deadwood which is undemocratic European Union officialdom.Similarly, we have been distanced from Dutch industrial products traders. We must also part company with a bent and unrepresentative set of gerontocrats. I am referring to the leaders of the official trade union movement in Europe and North America.

The big question of public finance 

Anyone who talks about spending more money on the health service without independently verifiable results and adequate safeguards for the thousands who die in medical care every year,is out of touch with reality. The first thing some NHS doctors who I have met do is to flout elementary standards of human decency and break the laws protecting a patient from serial defamation and violent misconduct.

Until a closer look is taken at the NHS and its staff, particularly senior nurses and ambulance centre managers,more expenditure would be wasteful and counter-productive. The evidence shows that everywhere more money is spent without measurable accountability to the patient,his family and,in my case, ultimately,a court of law,standards of medical probity fall and general outcomes deteriorate.

Reform. Pay differentials

Great work has been done in reducing pay differentials in education. Let the matter be taken in hand in the nest of vipers that is medicine and the NHS to reduce income differentials.

Increase the pay of the lower-ranking nursing and care assistants,nurses in lower grades and hands-on junior health managers. Bring down senior doctors and consultants' salaries.

In the interests of actualising human rights law,let there be a court referral after a police doctor or social worker with a military family background has someone interred in a psychiatric hospital. The burden of proof must be put on the many wayward doctors in our hospitals.

REDUCE INCOME DIFFERENTIALS!

If doctors had a genuine vocation,they would accept salaries commensurate with no more than four times that of a trained nurse or junior health service manager.

Current affairs. Controversy

There is no justification for giving doctors and nurses pay increases tied to average wages inflation. That leads to serious crises in government finances,low productivity and widespread disenchantment with that type of society, one which allows itself to be held hostage by doctors, nurses, policemen, civil servants and teachers. Those people are living in dreamland. Go onto a hospital psychiatric ward for proof of sloth, ignorance, unmannerliness and rough treatment of people with very serious health conditions such as rhenal problems from drinking too many fluids, particularly late at night. That's an old physiotherapist's and hospital manager's trick to block up beds and create unnecessary distractions, stress and worry for patients and hospital staff notably the lower levels in staffing availability and grades....

We say to psychiatric doctors,"Stop talking about work,and get some done yourself!" We say so particularly to people with higher incomes than they need or are entitled to for effort. Some people earn their crust by the sweat of their brow while some medical public employees go from one day absent to holidays determined not by politicians or administrators,but by TV and radio and media commentators. Media pundits are out of touch with reality.

The public wants reform of the health system and dentistry,public and private. All attempts at change in Britain and America end up papering over the cracks and bringing even greater problems. No government and no modern country can afford these exorbitant wages increases being demanded bluntly and.openly without the danger of social breakdown. Social welfare claimants would be the cause of that phenomenon. The latter know that doctors and nurses are not doing their work even reasonably well,much less independently of the media and the police service in any country. We must embrace change publicly and those bound by the rules of medical confidentiality, privately as well. 

The watchword of labour?

The politicians are pawns of the media, who the English  refer to as go-betweens or go-fors...

The question of violence in our hospitals

The exception does not disprove the rule,namely that protection from violence in the NHS psychiatric gulags is urgently required.

The junior doctors have embarked on a three-day withdrawal of labour. How to meet reasonable demands for higher salaries?

Firstly,the NHS must curtail bed-blocking and reduce consultants top-heavy salaries and over-laden expenses accounts.

How to fund the NHS junior doctors pay claim without enhancing relative privilege and copper-fastening pay inequity and social unfairness?

In the press,reduce the unhealthy emphasis on medicine.

Make the NHS "a lean,mean fighting machine" (1983).

Secondly,partly privatise underperforming services and sectors and introduce streamlining and some competitive tendering. End Private Finance Initiatives and Public-Private Partnerships. Reduce over-staffing by cutting what are described as safe staffing levels in directives and guidelines.

STOP THE UNHEALTHY EMPHASIS ON THE NHS.

NHS psychiatry has become for many people not a crutch but a police baton,a system of internment and interrogation centres, medical gulags and nursing homes.

Strikes?

By all means support strikes BUT, remember, many in the public sector are not doing their job properly APART,that is,from in blue-collar trades, engineering, electrical, cooks, cleaners,groundsmen, auxiliary and ancillary or transport and related fields. The quality of their work is first class and compares very well with any private operator,often being a trend-setter. That is why,when public sector pay is being negotiated,transport and related fields are first out of the traps as the most determined and vociferous opponents of lacklustre employers who,like all employers,think that they can walk over people and take their employees for granted. The last out of the traps in terms of pay negotiations are the handful of building workers still in the public sector and ancillary staff for different reasons. One set is largely unorganised and the other much too vociferous for their own good.

In the end of the day,we all have to COMPROMISE unless we are very WELL ORGANISED.

In line with the basic principles of social justice,let nurses accept a 5.5%  pay rise and  a £1 700 lump sum  and electricians a similar increase but let cooks,cleaners, groundsmen and ancillary staff receive the District Council increase of 19.4% to 19.5% wages increase and junior doctors pay demands be reasonably paid,though not in their entire mass,perhaps close to their £20 per hour demand. The latter seems justified since they all seem a good old sort, trying their best. (We have to look elsewhere for doctors who malign their patients. They are invariably General Practitioners and Consultants acting at the fiat of "experienced" nurses,latch-keys in other words).

Let consultants salaries be frozen.

REDUCE DIFFERENTIALS!

Regressive tendencies , political reaction, takes on different shapes and forms everywhere. This phenomenon we see all around us in the influence of tribalists such as sportsmen and 'sectional interests' (James Connolly,Gordon Brown) in our era

Therefore,we say,society is once again for many at a dismal stage in Ireland. Note the declining influence of the trades unions, true communists and political radicals. Intellectual and spiritual life is given a boost by the softer-focus Christian universalism of the Catholic Church.

The agrarian socialism of the Land League of the 1880's and its abiding influence in Ireland 

The influence of the rough, ignorant, uneducated big farmer class through its mouthpieces in politics was,in the South of Ireland, supplemented by social security entitlements for the poor farmer in the 1960's. Tenant farmer cooperation gave way to smallholder conservatism . Agricultural consolidation continued  apace despite state supports to the small farmer.

1800-2000 big farmers hold agricultural production in bondage and the small farmer is led like a bull on a rope to market.

What then was the Irish town dwellers' response in the 1970's to effective tax exemption for Fine Gael's large farmer clientele?

Let us not forget the social background to modern developments in industry,the economy and society which gave rise to the Welfare State, now  remodelled by Blair to the German Sozialstaat. The big picture? Back to the 1880's again?

Marx,Lenin and others made an enormous contribution to humanity. Some of their democratic proposals should still be considered.

Neither revolutionary or democratic socialism were at the helm of revolutionary  democracy in our national liberation phase of Ireland's recent history. The green Tories are at the helm.

In the 1930's a great deal of good to confound either trend was done by revolutionary democrats. 

What Ireland had in the 1930's was a government which steered a path between imperialism and isolationism and it was and is Fianna Fail,no matter how pale a reflection of its former self it may be,which steers an unwavering course between rich bankers in New York and London and over-zealous advocates of social engineering and miracle cures today.

Which brings me to....

The contemporary utility of the term 'proletariat'

It would be tempting to think that we could redeploy the word in the style and frequency of a nineteenth century philosopher high on morphine or a guerning Russian Marxist with an infertile wife. That can never happen in our era of 'liberal' governance and 'free' markets because modern Anglophone society by-and-large rejects classical Marxism and the proletarian.

What socialists can take from old Marx's  Capital and Lenin's discourses that is worthwhile and of contemporary benefit is inspiration for renewed vigour in the fight for social justice. Not armed insurrection by the poor and unemployed on the French or Russian model but rather a public,legal (and even journalistic) struggle for economic equality and the rolling back of political conservatism. 

The reactionary mentality,the backwoods frame of mind,has been with us a lot longer than capitalism. Backward -looking types talk out of both sides of their mouths, informed by brutal and barbaric instincts. We have them in abundance in our benighted isle.

Bourgeois and bourgeoisie are two terms of interest to democratic socialists and revolutionary mockers alike but only the French understand them properly. The French bourgeoisie were not those "addicted to comfort and respectability "of the Oxford  English Dictionary definition but rather large property-owners in the North-East of France. An honest party like Fianna Fail stood resolutely behind those who it sent into the frontline while Sinn Fein bargained with their lives for the filthy lucre of media publicity. Fianna Fail realised that Ireland had very little room to manoeuvre between imperialism and the social and economic demands of national development.

Petite bourgeois socialism entails trying to reconcile two opposing classes which are based on broadly (but not entirely) separate economic interests. Classes emerged either recently in some developing countries or in industrial countries,centuries ago.

Nationalism's arcane politics stands for bluffing and insinuations and it is aimed at the private and public imagination of the countryman and townie. Nationalists and their hangers-on who claim to be republican but don't vote,nationalist logic and the ringleaders hateful conduct are based not on rational idealisation but on arcane knowledge and primitive behaviour learned originally from the Sicilians.

Ireland in a period of national intemperance and political incontinence

The key to this springtime of the lumpen proletarian lies in that phrase "semi-criminal elements" (Engels, The Prussian Military Question,1858-1865, Volume 20,Marx Engels Collected Works).That phrase describes the lifestyle of those who once stole to survive and the insane and the displaced in those environments where poor people developed their traits.Their social location is as summed up by Marx and Engels in 1847-8 (The Communist Manifesto) as that of "that passively rotting mass whose role in society best suits them to the role of reactionary intrigue".

Change?

Change is desirable, profound change if you like communalism or communism as it is called and as the Church calls it communitarianism.

 What must be added to which is said by those who consider themselves advocates of the poor and marginalised is that people change their social class and level of cultural-scientific attainment during their lifetimes. Did not Marx write,"The only constant is change" ( These on Feuerbach, 1844).

 The main reasoned objection to naive communitarians and moral idealists is that scientific socialism comes with a proven track record of overcoming economic downturns and dealing with rural unrest. People who by virtue of their conditions of life want to use and abuse others simply have to be firmly dealt with by the government of a sensible government.

In a democratic society,we cannot have expropriation of either middle-size farmer or big farmer under prevailing conditions. Incremental change that hampers market laissez-faire practices and reins in the wild horses of economic maladies and hand-over-fist financial exploitation and expropriation is an anti-market solution of sorts.

No dictionary definition flips this alternative to bourgeois or proletarian.

Petite bourgeois -if you are not a reader of socialist theory,you will not have encountered the term- is actually a reference to middle ranking civil servants. In Ireland because of the seminal influence of Padraig Pearse the balance has always been tipped towards progressive views in almost every government official. Why,so? After difficult beginnings, England's imperial crimes in other lands became widely publicised and the barriers put up by nineteenth century idealists were broken down by social progress of the 1970's. The Irish Revolution may have appeared to be the work of Pearse in the 1920's but it is the imprint of bourgeois revolution which is most visible today. Ireland did not have a bourgeois revolution immediately but it did have an economic transformation soon after liberation.

Anyone who makes speeches at a memorial event for the murder gang agreement to the effect that there are no second class citizens anymore is living in a sealed environment and has no contact with the real world. Ms. O Neill's consciousness -if we can call the perorations of this vulgar-minded,pill-popping,fat little woman consciousness -has been formed in the cocoon of Sinn Fein circles where the party is moving ever further away from its core supporters...

Reflect on gifts of public money in ever greater quantities to grandstanding projects and flim-flam civil society groups. I am referring to Sinn Fein,the GAA and loyalists. Everyone knows in Irish country areas that Sinn Fein is run by and for the benefit of small farmers and business interests. The SDLP work for doctors,dentists, lawyers, judges and teachers and those in the  employment of the big international businesses.

The political spokesmen of sectarian parties in Ireland and Britain are well-spoken and effusive. They are given extensive publicity in the state media for no apparent reason.

The Sinn Fein enforcers

Those people whether small farmer or hospital 'keeper' are not concerned about or interested in the consumer or patient. (Eamann Mc Cann is one of the many paid rabble-rousers and hate-preachers in the background of Sinn Fein).

Green and Orange politicians in Stormont

Well-trained yakking birds who do not know what they are talking about albeit better than what went before,namely religious fundamentalism, outright bigotry and sectarian murder. 

The elephant in the room

Police and psychiatrists have transformed the North of Ireland into a ticket-of-leave prison-hospital. 

I can't speak for the SDLP-they have always been absent without leave- but for my 'abdication speech' as a guerrilla leader,see Der Spielplan of July-August 1988 ("Is it me you're looking for?", "Ochon, Ochon,Ochon,is a ruin,a ruin,a stoir....",after Neidi Frank,Rann na Feirste,1977, "The boy stood on the Burning Bridge"). If you want your P45 from your employer, vote Sinn Fein. The female yakking birds will tell you to leave their office and to abstain in non-political elections if you are registered to vote in trade unions elections.

There is neither criminal charge nor determinate period of detention. Are you trying to get me or a family member killed or injured? Talk a bit of sense. Nobody in the health service does any work. They're laughing up their sleeve at people like you who advocate more health spending. Wise up,either that or go and drown yourself in Lough Erne!"

Similarly, address his fan club in a like fashion. Listening to a maladjusted individual or politician who comes on the radio talking nonsense about "mental illness" makes no sense to most former inmates of the asylum. 

Why do the idiots not see the elephant in the room? 

In Ireland, North and South,we live in a police state organised by politicians, police, Catholic clergymen, soldiers, lawyers,judges and medical personnel.

My soliloquoy on "the tune the oul' cow died on"runs as follows,

I am not the only one evidently who does not listen to this sort of pedantic rubbish on the radio or tune in to those who issue a carte blanche to doctors, notably that perfidious type of doctor,a psychiatrist. Be on your guard against clergymen and those who conceal the mailed fist in a velvet glove. I am referring to nationalist politicians.

 Turn off the BBC Radio Ulster news if it is annoying you.

Avoid fair-weather 'friends' such as media figures, middle class journalists and nationalist politicians. They are never far away from the microphone. Politicians, professional and concealed, like to give speeches to the unwary and naive. Their lives and those of their followers' are wound up in balderdash.

Above all, KEEP LEFT! Vote LABOUR!

Real democracy and the labour movement in Northern Ireland. The South and Britain and politicians

Trade unions represent a great social good with little or no protection  from government and precious little support from civil bodies. 

Because of the historic influence of those recalcitrant thugs,Communists in trade unions, there has been much noise but little light shed on the internal workings of trade unions.

In Northern Ireland,we are involved in a struggle for mere democracy or national independence and social wellbeing. In his latter years,the leader of the British left found comfort in this democracy,not socialism,that leader being Tony Benn. (The arrest of Tony Benn proves that there is nothing more certain than right-wingers and their medical agents turning turtle under pressure of events. Note the political crisis for real democracy engendered by the collapse of Marxist dictatorships).

In a colony such as the North,right-wingers in the  labour movement and their fellow travellers are well known for getting their hands on others' income and chattels to feather their nests in their new places of abode.

The labour influence in the other part of Ireland 

In the South,big money political interests legislate only reluctantly when confronted by the labour movement. They have to be confronted with the ultimate  threat of a general strike or generalised labour discord. Only the ICTU is able to gain concessions for the low paid and marginalised. Social atrophy and political stasis is down to the influence of the South's neo-colonial politics. Joining them in their party hullabaloos and pensioner street scenes are decaying elements of  far-right fascism in the form of bigots in the police and army.

The sturdy representatives of the state manifested constantly their claims for bounty money in the form of percentage-linked, harmonised salary increases for doctors and police while Labour and Tories played silly games with people's lives.

 Who will be the cock-of-the-walk in gross income terms after the current round of bottom-up industrial unrest subsides?

Cock-of-the-walk will be doctors and state employees at the HIGHER level in Northern Ireland.

They already have incomes well in excess of their needs AND they are receiving them from the British Government. 

Make no mistake about the greed of our middle classes, working men and women of the British Isles and in particular of the North of Ireland. State employees who cry 'wolf' too often such as NHS doctors,teachers and well-paid civil servants are sadly missing from what Michelle and Barack Obama could clearly see (and the Catholic Church and the Salvation Army in Ireland and Britain have an overriding imperative to serve). I refer to the benefactors of the poor,the hungry,the foreigner,the stranger, the homeless person, the displaced, the refugee,the asylum seeker, the person "seeking only workmen's wages" and the hungry child.

That is one thing a fat English Tory politician and the rich man have in common, neglect for the poor and down-at-heel and BRAZEN IDOLATRY OF MONEY AND POWER OVER PEOPLE'S LIVES.

Apart from Ireland and California which are clearly on  long-term upward swings in terms of technical applications, Europe's and North America's "Glory Days" of capital accumulation of the last thirty years are over.

The Stormont Assembly? 

The DUP MLA's are not to be taken seriously as normal rational people and Sinn Fein's politicians  are destined for a relatively short-lived notoriety. 

The great democratic deficit in the North of Ireland is down to the fact that the  spoofer dominates the Northern media and the police force controls political discourse.

Marx could see that the workers of the North, South, Britain, France and Germany should have their own political party and the non-craft worker his own union.

The magnificent 11.5-14% pay award won by refuse and recycling workers and litter-pickers and street cleaners and lower grades of district council workers is a great victory for the 2022 strike movement.

Silly Free State "tradition" is based on agrarian socialism,a web of illusion put up by small farmers and farmers' spokesmen.

As The British Army in Northern Ireland Volumes 1-3 puts it,"The Irish country people are long on talk and short on information."

Irish city people used to see in Irish country people comrades in the fight for jobs and higher wages. The worldly wise journalist and advocate sees country people's socialism as no more than stubbornness and truculence. The Irish countryman sees in the town dweller a fanatic out to cheat him. His simple notions and transparent deceptions must be met with scorn and contempt. 

 The countryman's reactionary nature is down to a mind full of precipitate nonsense, real-life games of violence and thuggery and conservative mischief.

Why,so?

 Because the country person is a 'cute hoor' who pushes someone from the town into the frontline to take the bullet for him. Those who mix with idiots become like them.

That explains a lot of the tomfoolery elucidated and dramatised in my soliloquoy in July-August 1988 in Rathmines,Dublin,a 'drama' with profound and far-reaching consequences for the Eastern Socialists.

Politics? 

Today,in many instances in Northern Ireland, people aim to turn to the alternative of going to law.

Other people turn to that fickle type of friend,a politician,for support and mediation because the courts are closed to the majority. 

Why are courts the prerogative of the rich?

 Even with Legal Aid,few can negotiate the perils of the judiciary and the legal profession.

These days,some politicians thrive on a background of no labour organisation having the power or determination to bring them to account. The trade union official is in an ambiguous relation with the politician (Lenin,Left Wing Socialism,an Infantile Disorder,1919). 

However,in the North of Ireland,these days, politicians can do more to help individuals than trade unions but they can only do so because they mediate social differences. Sooner or later, every politician will spurn his or her constituent and ask him or her to go away because at the end of the day none,NONE,are true socialists or working class representatives.

Labour is better for jobs and housing, industrial employment and public housing, certainly not private housing.

Take for instance the period of reflation after the labour troubles and strikes of the years 1978-79.

In Northern Ireland industrial employment rose from 210 000(1979) to 230 000 (1981).

Then the wreckers moved in with the demolition ball to destroy our industrial heritage. Because of the reactionary influence of an over-weened police force and a cowboy in the White House the real economy of the West entered a terminal decline.

That decline in Northern Ireland has led to endemic, unreported crime,the triumph of the idler and the waster and the exaltation of the showbiz celebrity and spiv.

A waged worker does not have security of employment. That fact marks the origin of trade unionism (and craft hostility to general workers and the unemployed worker).

The government employee has no need of trade unions and should not be in one because he usually has more than adequate means of economic support. In addition ,he enjoys political solidarity in the form of employer arbitration,civil society support and legal protection.

The craft worker and general worker only unite against government employee when circumstances are pressing and urgent. Those circumstances embrace minimal remuneration to keep living standards up and maintain safe working arrangements and adequate provision for sick leave, unemployment and leisure.

A Labour fool such as Brendan Howlin or Ernest Blythe talks and acts in the manner of the country squire by cutting wages,living standards and social standards. The trimmer is never welcome in labour circles and his nemesis is the general strike when trade unions break free from the halter of a runaway coach. That is symptomatic of a political collapse. 

Eventually nationalist whimsies whether they be from Fine Gael or Fianna Fail or Sinn Fein or country wiseacres prevail and society goes back in time about twenty or thirty years.

The lessons of the past are clear.

Irish Labour Party heads always desert and betray trade unionists and the poor. They clear a path for quack remedy salesmen such as Sinn Fein and independents as they describe themselves. In the latter instance,I refer to Danny Healy-Rae,the Kerry landlord.

While there may be very little that can be said in favour of Fianna Fail, under Ahern it led a democratic revolution which laid bare the timbers of the sinking ship of cronyism and nationalism and corruption so beloved of the Catholic Church and GAA. However, those who lament the passing of the age of Lynch, Haughey and Reynolds also lament the passing of the age of terrorism, unrest and emigration and they generally did not favour the economic rebirth of our country.

It  has been led by Fianna Fail,solely and alone with only the occasional prod from others.

Fianna Fail is getting on its feet again after a difficult hiatus .

Even Sinn Fein has become a democratic party and the nationalist element of all parties is in retreat. A country rescued from the scrapheap is set on the path of open government and strict accountability.

That,my good sirs,is a DEMOCRATIC revolution. Not a workers republic but the patient's condition is improving and he is out of a coma (or 'bind').

It is ONLY THE SOLDIER and WORKER who understands a poor man and a waged worker and only a trade union official who accepts the bona fides of a salaried worker and well-paid public service officer. Only a well-informed judge or socially-minded  clergyman can mediate between workers and employers in intractable labour disputes.

 Some blue-collar workers say that salaried public employees and health staff should never have been allowed into the Trades Union Congress. The result,they claim,is the marginalisation of the blue collar worker and watered-down political and social endeavours of the TUC.

Labour and Capital?

 Today,this is a political struggle between waged worker and public servant and higher-up civil servant and well-paid medical consultant.

The self-employed?

Self-employed workers have no opportunity to bargain collectively, create any real social impression or make an impact apart from at political election times when they are amongst the most vociferous of those calling for lower taxes and higher thresholds for social relief.

The phenomenon of falling living  standards and declining economic outcomes?

Social facts are something Labour and Tories know very well. In the 1980's Tory governments and employers tried to not just accelerate capital accumulation but to deskill and reduce the wage-employed to performance-related pay,self-employment and short-time working.

The international dimension

Super-exploitation of the native and foreign workers creates the conditions for absolute  impoverishment, renewed world conflict and open superpower rivalry. The super-exploitation of poor countries is part of the colonial legacy. It is also part of the outworkings of the internal polarisation and industrial decay created by changing economic factors and trade winds. The features of falling living standards were aggravated by Thatcher,Reagan and others.

Continental socialism is not very relevant to England because many well-trained and knowledgeable academic, judicial and political luminaries have been student journalists, jurists or barristers without a brief and know only too well the foibles of the 'Frenchies'.

 In the early stages of their working lives and professional careers,those sorts of person had to accept low pay and long hours slaving over a hot computer until internet traffic reached critical mass and the interface closed down. They soon lost their love for the adoption of Marxist sociology. That put any notion of the future Labour types following the Continental path to socialism out of their heads.

The question of terrorism

It is easy for me to mock,never having had to stand for elective office in any organisation other than one which has now dissolved itself in keeping with its own rules and procedures.

The path taken by my ageing generation was a path to ruin being pursued today in Sudan and elsewhere,one of left-wing extremism.

Left-wing extremism? Ireland,I hear you ask?

Yes,the Provos were that most radical of types,left nationalists. They behaved then as they behave now by calling for open-ended welfare payments and low taxes on small business and property tax exemptions. They have no grasp of financial probity or wider fiscal reality.

The use of violence is one thing no true Continental socialist can be accused of not having a ready answer to. He answers in the negative,firmly against.

Apart from the occasional priest who you meet once in a blue moon,you will never find anyone in public Establishment circles who included the actions of the IRA in the framework of a just war.

The sooner the Irish people part with illusions as I had to in 1989,the sooner they will be free of ubiquitous nationalist verse and song bowdlerised from the Scots and French by people such as myself (The 'play', July-August 1988,Dublin). The sooner they will throw of the language of cultural nationalism (and special interest pleading) which ennervates and bedevils this island nation of ours in equal measure.

No to national exclusiveness! No to terrorism! No to cultural autonomy for special interest groups!

Continental socialism was shot down at the TUC Annual Conference in 1882 (see Introduction to the Communist Manifesto).

In Russia, Marx and Engels saw hope in the agricultural commune as a future model for socialism (the kolkhoz) (Introduction to the Communist Manifesto).

In Britain the social gains have all been made by the Labour Party which expelled the Communists in 1925. That occurred after the publication of the Zinoviev Letter. The Zinoviev  Letter fracas was a secret police hoax.

In Ireland socialism is modelled on syndicalism. Trade unions and the Labour Party led some of the process of social amelioration and labour regulation. The Church looked on from the sidelines aghast at any talk of society and class and abandoned all contact with its own pet croney concerns after the 1970's . That occurrence was due to failing interest in Christian worship.Those matters which it referred to in its schools as Civics or The National Issue.

 Due to its grip on the education system,the Church prevailed on the poor farmers and Sinn Fein's urban followers to vote against anything socialist. Its leading supporters became the public representatives of Fianna Fail and Fine Gael. Those parties successfully agitated to their own followers and urban workers to make Fianna Fail the champion of public services such as health,housing and a fairer division of social wealth and Fine Gael the shouters for the law and order brigade.

British Judaism or Reaction is not a proper foundation for the running or executive management of any country or trade union. It leads to nationalist socialist revanchism and sitting-it-out when action is required and key initiatives are being debated.

Germany,1948? Ukraine,2023?

The Ukraine is not Germany BUT would people who read and write grunge reports please note,Russia had no nuclear weapons in 1948.

Bad-boy Stalin offered to surrender  East Germany if the country was demilitarised.

Call me Stalin too,but there will be no peace while Britain and America fight a proxy war against Russia. Committing anything other than armed gangs by sending their armies there would without a shadow of a doubt lead to a nuclear conflagration.

I would say to Ukrainian representatives,pull the rug from under Zelenski and sign a Non-Aggression Pact with Russia on the basis of a binding agreement on neutrality AND if you are that desperate for international investment,take the Americans off our hands. Like the Germans,we have endured them too long ordering us around and want them and their businesses to depart and not come back to our shores.

We say to friends of America:You are a bunch of thugs high on lachrymose sentimentality and idle rhetoric. We survived without the Americans before and we will survive on our own after they are gone as go they must because profit was what brought them here.

The Russians have the measure of the Poles. Because of internal disruption caused by glasnost,the Russians do not seem to see pathetic nuisances as being largely responsible for Russia's loss of stature and grace.

When even a clown such as an Irishman like myself,in receipt of public charity to sustain himself and keep the wolf from the door,sees in the Poles 'wreckers' (Stalin) the world must come to terms with that fact.

 Russia will deal with Poland and Germany and America "all in its own good time".

What is to become of an enormous thriving mass of people in London if war breaks out between Asia and Europe?

Already the klaxons are sounding for international conflict in the Northern hemisphere.

Hysteria. Thatcher-the Ruin of Britain. Barbarism

Like many others in my situation,as a student in 1981-82 living in University Avenue in Belfast,I  experienced the unsanitary and dangerous buildings being used to house students.

Yet again,in 1983-4 after a year's absence from my studies due to the witless activities of Brice Dickson of MI 5 and Christy Patton of MI 6, the inhuman and degrading treatment of students by private landlords in gerry-built housing in Agincourt Avenue had to be endured.

Many of those student dwellings were tenanted by the so-called Student Accommodation Service at Queen's and were unfit for human habitation. Many of the ultimate beneficiaries of Belfast Rachmannism were police landlords and hung-his-mother-type small businessmen. They were in truth only rent-collectors for the wealthy parasites in hock to the City of London. (Every form of society throws up its fair measure of parasites not all of them Tories. Some of them are dyed-in-the-wool Labour types on small pensions but with a 'DLA car' so that they can meet their police contact man).

Parasitism found its full expression in Thatcher,a madman called Norman Tebbit and a silly old fool in Washington who claimed some ancestral affinity to Ireland.

All those persons stripped their country bare of what they called "real jobs". They began the process of mass social degradation, bogus self-employment,safety standards deregulation, abolition of basic labour standards,monetary policy madness, agency working,job insecurity, financial parasitism, economic immiserisation, robbing Peter to pay Paul, deindustrialization and deskilling on behalf their puppet-masters in California and London.

Their legacy is a society,two societies in fact,gan faic gan fiud (without economic substance as surplus exporter or real hope). Let anyone contradict these facts at their peril.

The only outcome of Thatcherism was make-believe 'work' in insurance firms, banks, shopping centres,transport,the arms industry and the shadow economy. One of those coupon clipping exercises in mass titillation,gambling, is a shadow business for wayward individuals intent on aping the behaviour of the rich.

 In 1987-88, hyperinflation set in. Mass speculation on property was  punished by the money sector. Britain's currency was reduced to junk status. 

The outcome?

In 1992,the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Norman Lamont,accepted that the UK could not compete in the world market by taking Britain out of the Exchange Rate Mechanism.  (The ERM was intended to secure cheap credits for industry). Britain's government decided that that country must rely on monetary 'spin' and imperialist barbarism to stay financially afloat. 

The 'copycats'? Germany?

Kohl copied Thatcher's policies. After 1985,Germany entered the deepest and longest recession in its entire history. Japan followed soon afterwards,then Russia,then Clinton's America. Those countries wanted the unsuspecting to board a French-built plane and fly out to see the mess left behind by the idiots of the Adam Smith Institute and Chicago Business School,Hayek,Milton Friedman,Johnson and similar space cadets.

Tighter restrictions on industrial managers,endemic police corruption and medical euthanasia require enlightenment thinking. Instead, we get an untrammeled belief in the fickle certainties of media hype and information control. 

Even more so than Thatcher, Blair initiated the casual brutality of medical repression. His gift was for totalitarianism accompanied by random acts of murder and open cruelty. Medical murder and widespread hospital experimentation cost many,many people their lives during his tenure.I can bear witness to that fact. I suffered at the hands of male and female psychopaths who were employed by the NHS during his fashionable outbursts of idle rhetoric. Blair's casual brutality was characterised by his fatal embrace of paramilitary gangs and their political frontmen and media camp followers. Indigenous police forces grew steadily out of control.

Women in politics?

The latter are hoping for a rise in government allowances for the unemployed or long-suffering disabled to buoy up their socialist claims. Women in politics and their male admirers are destined for an old people's home or nursing establishment. There staff are well used to people ranting and raving at them about nothing in particular." Misguided?Women politicking?

Distraught women such as Michelle Gildernew and Michelle O Neill become hysterical and unbalanced when they think that they have the ear of their main opponent or electoral cannon-fodder.

This facet of feminism is the leading cause of female nervous breakdown, catered for in Aspen,Colorado by doctors such as Day-Cody. In the case of Belfast Walter Mitty -types who have killed someone,I am referring to Adams,by clinics in New York and in Michelle Gildernew 's case of alcoholism,by St. John of God's in Dublin. 

The problem with women who think they're as good as any man does not merit serious analysis. Its origin is self-explanatory, moral infidelity to a set of beliefs or family associations. (Arlene Foster can not be found guilty on that count since she was born with great self-possession and over-riding ambition). Neither Gildernew nor Thatcher saw fit to speak to anyone who understood their problem,moral conceit and sensual complexity until  recourse to medical assistance or spiritual help was too late.

What Thatcher and her kitchen cabinet of nouveau riche-types set out to achieve with a considerable measure of success,was to renovate British capitalism and narrow the scope of government activities. Apart,that is,from draconian security measures.

Under Charles Johnson, Alasdair Campbell, Jonathan Stevens, Marjorie Mowlam,John Reid, Jonathan Cain, Michael Goggins,Tony Blair and Peter Mandelstam the police went into security overdrive in Northern Ireland. That was the outworking of the internal terror and political factionalism. 

Independent witness to Thatcherism's get-rich idealisation? Culture?

Witnesses to personal  degradation are the British entertainment industry and press. Both were swamped with drugs and medications to stimulate creative energy, subdue political opposition and cultivate wayward talent. That police practice has spread to what the House of Windsor call the 'Commonwealth'. This Commonwealth they want us to join to share in their financial poverty and social misery.

Capital accumulation?

Thatcher was engaged in that most egregious range of activities, namely, transferring wealth and investment i.e.capital from "underperforming" areas of the economy to more profitable, largely unregulated areas,a woman's dream and a worker's nightmare.

Her activities and those of the  British government are best synopsised by Karl Marx in Volume One of Capital or,more loosely,by his Theories of Surplus Value Volumes 1-3. Thatcher 's policies were properly characterised one hundred and twenty years and more earlier by Karl Marx.

'Ordinary' people,the self-employed 

The reason the Irish and English self-employed do not like Thatcher was that like any other Jezebel in a 'social' ministry,she expected people to pay their taxes to keep her and others in the lap of luxury.

Her appetite for Scots whiskey?

Profligate. Not only that fact occurs to the wary observer, but she was a woman who constantly cried "Wolf!" at England's competitors and partners alike. She fed secret briefings based on unsubstantiated 'intelligence' to the English press.

The first wave of economic migrants from Thatcherism?

Thatcherites believed in double taxation. She hated reciprocity and understood that phenomenon to mean derogation from treaty obligations. As an abandoned wife would retaliate for a "cheating husband",she viewed the subtleties and complexities of international law and European Treaty obligations as a marriage contract...

....Tee-hee-hee,as my late brother Dermot used to characterise the Protestant marriage arrangement and something derived from it,the contract of employment.  (That wordy old Labour peer and advocate, Lord Wedderburn, could not see industrial chaos as imminent. Britain's leading labour advocate and labour law peer was little more than the unhappy husband who rejects the mediaeval "right of the first night").

To return to my theme, Thatcher could not see the true extent of the suffering and misery she cultivated. She reduced society from a situation of reasonable sufficiency and rising expectations to a cardboard cutout of India.

She received no impartial advice. The police and secret services hounded her opponents and intimidated journalists. Police everywhere behave like those dangerous capitalist Gauleiters (Toraigh/Tories, G."pursuers") at the instigation of such reactionary politicians.

One instance in my situation occured in Dublin in 1990. In August 1990,she flew in an RAF helicopter over the rooftop of the flat where I lived in Saint Teresa's Gardens. (I lived an exile in my own country,an exile from her brutal and barbaric regime).

Hers was a violent,unstable,intolerant and bellicose attitude. She and her political hangmen demanded total submission.

War,famine,want,filth, disease, prrostitution, crime,drug-taking and the public rejection of any public charity.

And?

 The ultimate goal of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Germany,the US,Canada and Australia?

Tory catchphrases 

Thatcher like the Asians and Catholics who she encouraged to enter politics,was an abhorrent individual who had ready to hand a host of glib superlatives such as economic reality, common sense, national security,real jobs, economic growth and similar profanities, never seeing the descent into a drug-addled,hen-pecked,Third World state of affairs she was creating.

Little did she or others foresee what someone Tebbit wanted to bring back from Germany in chains would do to the Tory hooligans in October 1983. 

You're an old man now,Norman.

 You represent the brutal and barbaric legacy of political catcallers and Tory yakking birds. 

Your passing,too,will be a cause of open rejoicing.

Thatcher's legacy is a world subsumed in disease,filth,hunger,poverty and quiet desperation.

The Tories, whatever the fine qualities of one or two Catholic M.P.s,are finished in government for a generation. 

Free market economics?

Let us not allow assholes in Blair's former governments or pricks in tiny left splinter groups to take the credit for the supercession of classic 'free' market economics.

Socialists,Communists and liberals were a hindrance in purging society of an evil cult dreamed up by economic fantasists in Boston,London and New York.

We say of those who claim that they are 'pro-business',"You are concealing your real agenda. Your aim is to enrich yourself and your family at the expense.of those foolish enough to endorse your claims or stupid enough to be taken in by your idle rhetoric."

If the claims of those describing themselves as "pro-business " are ever taken seriously by a majority,a path to ruin will have been charted.

"Law-and-order" types?

Those who describe themselves as "pro-law and order and in favour of stricter controls on  criminals" are covering up a catalogue of judicial and administrative errors of judgement, outright barbarism and numerous human rights violations by doctors and others at the instigation of their victims' enemies. 

Defences?

Give the apologists of medical and police violence a flea in their ear when these fools approach you in the street. (They will rarely come to your door unless it is to have you arrested or killed).

Levelling up

If the modern Tories intention to 'level up' is genuine,the noble aim of equality positions them to the left of the Labour Party and Liberal Party and all others.

A noble ideal BUT.....

....very flawed thinking because it is a left-wing ideology alone that can reduce differentials and even out economic outcomes....

....a worthy and a great social good but naïve because there are so many other social goods such as public housing,fair rents,fixity or security of tenure and safe working conditions....

....levelling up is all well and good for the 12 000 000 in receipt of a social security payment but many in an England where public housing has been reduced to a source of private enrichment,must subsidise private landlords with these very social security payments....

.....AND,the price of short-term contracts prohibits the main body of those on poverty wages partaking of this grandiose ambition to create greater equality of income....

....there are many other issues too such as hospital brutality and RESTRICTIONS ON TRADE UNION RIGHTS.....

The price of ignoring those who produce the wealth of society for a HALCYON ILLUSION dictates taking to the streets by those whose taxes pay social security bills at government level.

Let us have done with illusions and stick to the LABOUR path to social equity and private wellbeing. The taxpayer should not subsidise the get-rich-quick dreams of dolemen and the unproductive classes. Most of the poor have adequate income,not all,and a wealth of social supports.

Building workers and many graduates were forced into self-employment to reduce their employers' National Insurance bill. Thatcher sought in her drunken frenzy to introduce a Ground Zero of falling social insurance and rising debt by her cavalier approach. Hers was a dumb and insensate ideology such as Kwarteng,Truss and Mordant tried to introduce.

People such as Thatcher and Haughey occur at all stages of history,anxious to batten down the hatches on labour discontent by deregulation,mismanagement and bogus self-employment.

This labour degradation is a synthesis of the US prison system and English and Dutch market liberalism. Blair changed nothing. His days at university were spent strumming a six-string and combing his hair as were Cameron's and Rishi Sunak's.

The only political or economic explanation for the development of the female hen party around this unhinged yakking bird was a drive for capital accumulation by British monopolies.

Nothing else. The Catholic bishops of England and Wales furnished her path to power and backed a warmonger and Tory as they now use their residual influence to back a bloody and brutal genocide in the Middle East.

Thatcher's legacy is a generation reared under her tutelage with no livelihoods who are characterised by anomie.

I am referring to those who do not accept rules, morality,justice,decency or anything else. 

Blair had an opportunity to distance himself from The Unjust Class of bankers and spivs who took over England in the 1980's but he steadfastly refused. The Blair years were noted for the politics of chaos, disharmony and deregulation.

In the Blair years, Thatcher's essentially dystopian policies and military government were never truly abandoned. Sewer rats proliferated in politics,medicine, hospitals and public life.

A feral generation developed without moral or social guidance,one beyond the limits of the law,a generation which could only be controlled by the police.

Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition 

In the demoniac ranting and raving of Thatcher and her hangmen and the man who I dubbed The Welsh Windbag,there are the presentiments of a socially disfigured polis and a mentally damaged world of work.

Thatcher and Kinnock were two hyper-inflated bores who were taken seriously only because one was dispatched by shopkeepers, police and high finance to confront the unions and the other was appointed by union bosses to lead the charge of the light brigade against labour reforms.

The enduring message of the slash and burn economics of Thatcher and Reagan,Bush and Gorbachev is of societies going through the 'change of life'.

Society never stands still. However,there are eternal verities and absolutes such as care for the sick and elderly,human compassion and tolerance for your own kind. Those were sadly missing from Thatcher's super-exploitative and inflationary Britain.

Middle  and upper class British voters were responsible for the phenomenon.

Thatcherism's internal workings focussed on two things the most important in May 1980 being to control the printing of money to bail Britain out of one of its perennial crises. The banks control the financing of debt by releasing money to debt this influencing the setting of interest rates at the Bank of England.

The second trick she devised was to get a businessman to close down the nationalised monopolies and sell off what remained of their fixed capital and labour assets.

In the first case she stopped the Jews flooding the market at home with Treasury money while sending their own money abroad to avoid high interest rates on lending and in the second she set Johnson against the domestic capital markets in the real economy.

What did it amount to?

Playing both ends off against the other.

Since the miners brought down the Tory government in 1974 and the Big Three brought down the Labour government in 1978-9, England has been a polarised society with fringe politics gaining ever more credibility and supporters.

While in its manifestations, be they the National Front, British National Party and  Reform or the Militant Tendency,Socialist Workers Party and Jeremy Corbyn, the views are ever more diverse and incapable of reaching a harmonious accord.

Labour is the only party of flexibility which does not allow "stark,raving lunatics" ("What is to Be Done -The Sequel", July-August 1988, Dublin) to give an official and mainstream Labour viewpoint. It keeps strictly on the left when populism is on the rise and stays well clear of endorsing wicked individuals such as Nigel Farage or Penny Mordant or their pet hobbyhorses.

The whole point of Thatcherism was rowing back on industrial agreements between labour unions, employers and government before unleashing a torrent of deregulation and free market accumulation and property speculation.

The only people who followed her example were Gorbachev,Yeltsin and Gaidar. They knew as well as they had a head on their body that the key to easing private capital accumulation was to break up the Leninist economic model of industrial trust and trade union Kombinat.

They broke up the joint union-employer factory committees because they no longer served the purpose of state capital accumulation and raising productivity. They knew that the unions as in Britain,had taken over the running of the country and were slowing production to the workers pace.

People such as Mirzov,Aganbeygan,Gaidar,all being enemies of socialism and the working man,realised that the adjustments Thatcher had made were the best route to feathering their own nest and enhancing the power of the managerial class (apparatchiki) and turning public property into private wealth. That was Thatcher's and the Vatican's and the US government's long cherished plan to pacify Russia and calm national independence movements.

The Good Friday Agreement,all sane people say,is the outcome of fascist and imperialist revanchism.

In terms of investment flows and wealth accumulation,the Free State of Ireland has been a beneficiary of the dilution of the world working class movement but,if history moves in cycles,socialism in advanced, technically -orientated societies will once more be a talking point when the long dark night of the soul has passed for the working class.
