What we can learn from Stalin. Stalinism?

We can copy the examples of labour camps, preventive detention and long sentences for social and political parasites,of those who, after a fair and equal airing of their views, are not prepared to fall into line with everyone else. That is those who resist HUMAN PROGRESS and national defence needs,in keeping with the demands of the time. We count the typical Orange Order type and the big farmer and the Sinn Fein small businessman and the urban criminal as those requiring re-education.

Let us bear in mind other anti-social elements of foreign provenance such as the philistine printmaker and the Indian psychiatrists and doctors of German and Protestant extraction, those hocus-pocus merchants of doom. ( I have had the misfortune to meet more than my fair share of those wreckers).

Russia in its time,Lenin's doppelganger,a spy?

A China-watcher with a leftist perspective informs me without contemporary evidence that Stalin's file"disappeared from the KGB archives in 1922". He is like many on the political spectrum suspicious of Stalin. Stalin was a man who combined brutality with autocracy.

Okhrana verissimilitude

A lookalike for Lenin,Lunacharsky with his sunken, cancerous eyes at Brest Litovsk and faked photo meme in Brussels in 1913,was probably the real source of information inside the Bolsheviks to the Okhrana.

Viel ubertragen! Stalin's repression, Russia in its time,2

Reading the original pamphlets of Stalinism reveals what Bruno Ricci called 'bureaucratic collectivism' (La bureaucratisation du monde,1935,Paris).

In his explications,Stalin talked little about The Great Terror.

Clearly he saw the laws of science as fixed and immutable and political economy as a science. In his view while the laws of Marxist political economy were immutable, he regarded the Soviet Union as, essentially, law-governed.

The contemporary critic who Ricci admired was Trotsky, the minority movement leader. Trotsky wrote in The Revolution Betrayed in 1936 of the Soviet Union being "a degenerated workers' state" . Trotsky believed that the Soviet Union was in need, not of a social revolution but a political revolution.

Alternatives to Stalinism, the Revolution in Permanence of Trotsky and The Communist Manifesto?

A dead-end like the dual power of the Roman Republic and the France of the Committee of Public Safety.

...

The judgement of history on Stalin and all Bolsheviks, what is it in Westerners view?

LYNCH LAW!!!!!!!! a hundred times over, the reactive terror of former prisoners.

My advice to some British and Irish decriers of democratic socialism with all its imperfections?

No knee jerk reactions, extremist commentaries. Similarly ,no cheap shots from press barons and Tories please.

Blow smoke bubbles out of your backsides instead.

The Irish republican critics of the Soviet Union?

Republican ex-prisoners and those being detained for whatever reason, are very wide of the mark as regards many vital issues relating to the 1930's. They see society only through the distorting prism of other ex-prisoners and those around them. Ex-prisoners attract too many spies, paid informants and false witnesses to get even the basics of normative relations in the former socialist societies right. They have to rely on untrustworthy advisers who are in a invidious situation with the British government.

A 'Fifth Column'. Fifth columnists

What is meant by a fifth columnist is perhaps lost on modern viewers of history peering through the distorting prism of Western historiography.

If as Engels says, there is the economic struggle, the political struggle, the ideological struggle,we can add the Bolshevik innovation, the insurrectionary struggle and Gorbachev's innovation, the moral struggle.

We can  say that the capitalist also uses these weapons, accusations of moral insanity having long been directed at Moscow by his Irish coat-tails such as the female politician and the pious hypocrite.

It may seem strange to many students of Directory France and 1930's Russia and 1980's Ireland, but revolutionists such as myself had convinced ourselves that we held the moral high ground.

Nothing of the sort,we were slaves to nationalist and social yearnings and naive idealism. The IRA and head-scratchers were  victims of moral myopia who were prey to those out to profit from our misery.

Russian Communism and German Fascism

No matter what way you approach Russia in the period 1922-48 and Germany in 1929-45,both dominant ideologies were outgrowths of death-cults. One was characterised in Dostoyevsky's The Devils and the Hitlerite other is still manifested in the activities of a Sicilian death-cult in the Mafia. The former's manifestations are the IRA in all its guides and carter's are in  Irish Army officers, all members of Fine Gael.

The people who vote Sinn Fein or Fine Gael (or for similar parties in any country) are people who want to have someone killed by armed gangs and soldiers.

....in,Russia they are those who vote Communist or Our Home........you'll only learn that from a French Communist or Eco-socialist.... the French socialists are a completely different kettle of fish to any mainstream socialist party and represent the real cutting edge of 'new thinking' these days even if many of their followers are lukewarm about this New Wave of moral and social idealism (and the casual idolatry of the Welfare State).

Labour camps were invented for street-combers and idlers such as former soldiers and retired nurses who roam around looking for the next person to fleece or the next patient to send into psychiatry or a nursing home to be experimented on.

....

Open prison camps for groups being subsidised by the Departments of Communities and Health in the North and similar government departments in the South. Those groups (and amateur drama societies) were formerly subsidised by European Social Fund monies "to keep rival factions apart". As Tony "Murderer of the Innocents" Blair would have it, "peace-building".

The Catholic Church is involved in the reactionary occult too, deeply involved.

Be under no illusion about that, church-goers!

Is the money you give those people and church organisations being used for intimidation?

 Think!

Time to reduce government social spending on the street cavalcade of police nuisances and other tramps which propels both revolutionist and inflames  passive observers to the carnival of reaction.

The ultimate solution?

Give the spoils of imperialist banditry -it is being used to fund intimidation on our streets- to the countries being held to ransom by mass murderers in the West

We say to ruler and imperialist clone of the US President ,"Do not export British,Irish and American political policing and the cult of theatrical intimidation and public health terror and enforced idleness to other countries."

The people of the West are groaning under the heavy yoke of this state repression and medical terror.

The contemporary explanation of Stalinism was that it was the "dictatorship of the proletariat".

We have to look not just to Soviet politics but elsewhere for the origins of that bunker mentality. Russia was faced by its enemies to its west and south-west. That fact explained its siege mentality in the 1930's.

It was even in Britain (Seifert,2022) the case that war preparations were underway by 1937.

Russia in the period of the Great Purges went through the annihilation of all protest movements,a grim rerun of its old history under the Tsar from the assassination of Alexander 2.

The Soviet Union under Stalin was losing its old revolutionary cheerfulness (Osip Mandelstam,The Kremlin Mountaineer, 1937).

Stalin in his vast domain being someone who had never completed his secondary education and being without a law degree, had to rely on a vicious brute such as the Prosecutor-General,Vyshinsky,Yezhov and Zhdanov to enforce his totalitarian norms. The result was police terror and military lawlessness. Stalin lashed blindly around in all directions until all dissent was cowed into silence.

His reign of terror was what Lenin said in The Immediate Tasks of the Soviet Government in April 1919 was "the dictatorship of one man" or "one man management". That was something Lenin approved of because he aspired to that dictatorship himself.

Economic Progress under the Five-Year Plans?

Umbilically tied to Autocracy. For an autocrat in Ireland, read BERTIE AHERN.

From our experience in Ireland,we know that an autocrat only attracts riff-raff and scum akin to those Stalin attracted in the West, people fit only to be shot. I think of Adams followers and Mc Guinness acolytes and O Neill admirers.

Stalin's "mercy for the captive"

I the release of Trotsky from his bond to Russian Communism to go into exile in 1928 and granting of the suffrage to the 'former dispossessed classes' in the new Russian Constitution of 1935,we see a double occlusion,a 'double bluff',worthy of a political mathematician.

That was the forerunner to the main menu, the 'Moscow trials' of 1936-7. The trials required the enlistment of a former Menshevik to chair the tribunals and prosecute the accused.

Those manoeuvres represented together nothing other than the return to 'a measure of stability' so beloved of reform socialists and reactionary jurists everywhere.

In my view it is correct to see in Stalin a brute and a Master Deceiver operating under the influence of demonic powers and empowered by dictatorial forces. CIA agents in our country such as Swift and Kowalski -Sharkey represent a similar  demoniac influence in or country both West of the Bann (Kowalski) and East of the Bann (Swift-Martin).

Stalinism drives us to the conclusion that it would court moral insanity to associate with nationalist-socialists (or imperialists) or any other type of dictators who show nothing but contempt for educated people (and people of faith).

......

......

.....

Stalin was a case in point of a dictator who ruled by terror and fear. The Bolshevik terrors of 1921-2,1928-32 and 1936-7 cost many thousands of lives but those at the top of the political structure in the socialist superstate knew very little of the workings of the echelon of secret police agencies beneath their thrones. Like all rulers and politicians they were being hoodwinked though some results of light shone through the Mask of Zorro (see "Dizzy with Success",Stalin,1937).

For evidence of the same apparatus of terror operating in our own jurisdiction look to the activities of the 14 Military Intelligence Company of Lisburn Army Barracks.

Furthermore,on this theme of fascist reaction....

In Hitler's Germany, the runaway juggernaut of repression was the cause of the death of millions in Europe. Yet again, those at the top with the exception of Himmler,Goebbels and Eichmann knew very little about many facets of the Nazi Gotterdammerung.

.....

All societies which have experienced comparative economic decline contain the seeds of authoritarianism in the ignorant, cack-handed personages of Donald Trump and Mike Mc Connell.

If the US's descent into chaos spawns tyranny, those dictators cannot be confronted in a nuclear-armed world.

Rather, the Good Fight must be fought by both people of Reason and people of Faith.

US decay must not be allowed to drag that once-prosperous and even-handed society into a caricature of dictatorship. Honest people must speak up against the drift to the Right. The courts must put those who are set on overthrowing democracy behind bars.

Trade union government

Fanciful Bolshevik notions about worker management ignore one important fact. A worker with his back to the wall only confounds his leader with his innocent guile and terrorises even members of his immediate circle. We say,he will denounce his manager to anybody.

Why?

Because a worker's interest is in doing as little as possible and even killing his overseer.( Read the Book of Exodus in the Old Testament).

Lenin, the role model for Stalin, suffocated all opposition and called for a relentless war against bureaucrats. He wanted a Taylor system of time-and-motion labour power management.

We say of Stalinists and right-wing economic reformers both that they are bullies who will stop at nothing to inflict harm and injury on others. They are no better than the mad leaders of Britain in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Learners in politics, keep to the centre ground be it liberal humanist or social democratic or centrist and, repeat after me,"Banish misfortune!"

72 000 prisoners,our times

We look to that noble son of Palestine for answers to the drugs problem and drugs gangs, the President of El Salvador.

There the government has regained control of civil society by locking up members of drugs gangs on suspicion of gang membership and the annual toll of 3 000-4 000 drugs-related murders have been brought to a dramatic end.

Our society as with all modern societies faces an elemental problem with drugs which can only be solved by political authority being brought to bear on those who take life so easily and bring ruin everywhere.

In El Salvador, the FMLN has passed into history. All national liberation movements must and Sinn Fein must too.

Civility and equality have returned and a synthesis of authority and equality has been achieved and the main threat to life and society, the members of drugs gangs, imprisoned.

The President of El Salvador enjoys huge popularity.

Let us LEARN.
