A law-governed society or a national democracy?

 What is it to be,common decency and public civility or a digging match and a fight Dublin GAA and FAI style?

Ireland stands divided as between Northerners and Southerners,between civil policing advocates and lawyers and coarse and vulgar countrymen and sportsmen who brawl when they have drink taken.

It is the Irishman's dream to be a good brawler and a policeman's dilemma to stop him.

Is it any wonder Tony Blair came to power on the back of pledges to be "tough on crime and the causes of crime"?

His was a prebendary magistrate's role as President of England.

What then constitutes a law-governed society?

A society with a functioning and independent judiciary,not a country under the control of some nationalist headman such as Haughey, Reynolds, Fitzgerald or Ahern or Harris. 

In Ireland,without Labour or progressive participation in the running of society, Ireland can never as Robert Emmett hoped take its place among the nations.

A law-governed state is one which severely and quickly punishes wrongdoing by the police and disbands or prorogues the standing army.

We clearly do not have a law-governed state in Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is a colony with a local representative assembly which decides nothing and merely re-enacts prior English legislation with minor amendments. The recent insurgency was thoroughly and completely crushed by extra-judicial executions and by special police and medical measures approved by local nationalist headmen, the Catholic Church and judiciary.

The cutting-edge of the pacification arrangements approved by the Westminster elite and sanctioned by judges and administrators is the monotonous  regularity of PSNI-NHS repression. The daily manifestation of oppression is the psychiatric hospital system and the activities of people such as Quinn and Kelly in Cookstown and Dungannon Police Barracks for the Western area.

We say of stay-at-home people such as the Gardai that your activities lead away from the just and equitable solution of problems of a criminal or civil nature.

In the context of any police-medical dictatorship and one,at that,primarily finding its expression in the female voice to the ruin of both men and women,medical privilege before the courts and medical self-governance is NOT compatible with a law-governed state.

Medical privilege,that is the withholding of evidence before a court of law where the doctor is being sued for criminal injury and poisoning and loss of earnings leads on to that other problem of medics ganging up on their victims to pervert the course of justice and undermine the rule of law. They conceal evidence and kill their patients after first poisoning them. The practices are fully endorsed by judges, tribunal chairmen, barristers and Clerical collaborators with British rule and police terror. Bear in mind and it is your choice if you wish to tell doctors,only groups of psychopaths lie consistently. It is the sign of failed doctors who become politicians and those who cuckoos have pushed out of the nest. I am referring to Drs. Deeny and Deehan.

The doctors plead 'care for their patients as their number one priority '. I kid you not.

Anybody who regards a doctor as interested in anything other than his own family and an exaggerated salary,is a fool who probably thinks the cow jumped over the moon.

The medical involvement in denigrating and humiliating sceptics and the opponents of paranoidal police ideaisation requires the proper supervision of the medical profession and independent governance. Self-regulation in Britain allows medics to flout the basic standards of justice and all elementary principles of law.

Stern measures against medical and legal privilege and self-regulation must be put in place and salaries set at the level of a skilled worker,no more. I am referring to all doctors. People such as indigenous medical murderers must be arrested and made subject to the normal processes of law. Long deterrent sentences are required not legal and judicial pleasantries or journalistic and political obscurantism.

We are not going to get change from a government or legal profession which kow-tows to these dangerous and irresponsible louts and many of them have gone much further,very much further.

A prospectus for change

We can not have a law-governed state with a gang of cigarette-smugglers in the position of ruling party. Such a state would be similar to a Communist state. Neither has any duly-appointed or properly trained judges or independent legal counsel. Solicitors are too far down the Establishment pecking order to influence legal or social outcomes. Only a High Court judge or politician of standing can effect any change at a legislative level.

Sinn Fein is a national  democratic organisation with loose criminal connections which are built in to its very fabric. Any rival politician will tell you so. There are few bright-spots about post-1992 Sinn Fein but the further down the ladder you go,the better the scenario becomes. At councillor and party officer level-even better still, grassroots members -you encounter the strong moral fibre and willingness to help all classes and people. This fundamental fact of Troubles-era local politics was sadly absent from British self-styled "working-class M.P's"  such as Tony Banks and the self-styled Communists in London and Dublin in my past experience.

My long experience of NHS medicine is influenced by users and abusers and socialist femmes fatales who are employed in the hospital gulags.

A prophylactic 

I see in the ground-level Sinn Feiner-it does not matter where you find them- the archetypal good old sort and national democrat.

Proper democracy like its antagonists, Labour modernisers,must be understood warts and all. I say to Benn-type Labour M.P.'s,"If you like Cromwell,you would most certainly have liked Hitler. They were no different from Blair and Brown for murder,death and violence."

On this Mayday,it does well to remember that republicans believe in egalitarianism not revolution. That is the reason that their party has survived the collapse of revolutionary socialism.

My terms and concepts originate with George Gilmore -he called for national democracy,a mix of nationalism and democracy -and some of the faded concepts of French republicanism and the dead language of Bolshevism. Many of these concepts relate only to the political societies of the past.

Sinn Fein delivery politics may be less conservative than national democracy but its enduring message is Irish Independence for our country.

It is a badly-formed nucleus of Irish progressives BUT it delivers on the basic demands of the poor and pensioners and that is something Fianna Fail and the British right-wing Labour Party types cannot do because they are hampered by business interests at every level.

An alternative?

The Irish Communists drew their supporters from the Revolutionary Workers Groups, the unemployed who rioted in 1932. This is the class referred to by Marx as "the dangerous class".

Connolly drew the Irish Citizens Army from the trade unionists of the Irish Transport and General Workers Union and the intelligentsia.

The IRA drew it's supporters during the Civil War from "the unemployed and rural labourers" (Michael Collins,Dail Speeches, 1922).

The Irish Volunteers drew their supporters from the urban poor and small farmers.

The Free State Army was drawn from the ex-British Army soldiers who had been demobilised after the Great War.

We say therefore that the Irish Communists in trying to draw the IRA into the Republican Congress alongside the unemployed effectively severed their historic links with the Bolshevik Party. They went their own way in 1935 because the Bolsheviks united small farmers, industrial workers and soldiers.

Doubtless the Russians were glad to see the back of those drunken layabouts and schemers.

Only in the period September 1983-January 1985 was there anything other than sentimental attachment between Bolshevik and Irish Republican Movement and that period is loathed by both Putin and Gorbachev factions in Russia as a desultory and regrettable episode which involved them in an insurgency against a former ally,namely Britain,and deprived the later Soviet Union of finance and trade.

The Russians do not generally like the Irish, soldiers excepted, because they regard them as drunks. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, drunkenness and drug abuse are big problems  in Russia as they are in Britain since the collapse of the real economy in the 1980's.

Such naifs are indulging people who are bolshy and want more. Where police carry guns or operate in association with those who do,there is no law and order or law-governed state or active and impartial judiciary.

It is a sign of political coercion or clear and present danger where police carry guns,or both.

A law-governed society appears where people and police feel safe in their own skins.

That cannot occur against the background of an armed insurgency or public disorder or sectarian strife.

Indeed,it was only many decades after part of Ireland secured a measure of autonomy that laws began to regulate power and police practices of arrest and detention. We certainly do not have a situation of that kind in Northern Ireland.

Would a left-right political dichotomy solve our problems?

Certainly not! The labour movement in Ireland is loaded down with Marxists, crypto-Marxists and right wing socialists. They are not people who can give proper leadership because none of them believe in sovereign and inalienable rights such as the right to free expression and freedom of association.

Northern exposure 

We do not want the local medical-police-Masonic camarilla regulating public affairs in the North of Ireland under a new guise. As godly people, we advocate unipolar rule based on the supremacy of law and a functioning system of human rights safeguards.

How to begin?

In the North of Ireland we must disarm the police. Their presence is offensive to public order and their past deeds are well-known.

The police are a provocative presence everywhere but nowhere more so than where they are armed.

The measure of civil peace the South has enjoyed is largely due to the confinement of police to barracks. Keeping the loudmouths off the streets would greatly decelerate sectarian division in Northern Ireland.

We look forward to a clear break with the past and a clean sweep of policemen and women being made from the police force of our prison state. Eventually the English and the hangers-on will have to be put out. The work of depoliticising the police must be put in motion long before their inevitable departure with their families and kept women.

Social welfare is a grace and favour thing in a Catholic or national democratic state. It is ENTIRELY DISCRETIONARY.

In a law-governed state or in a regulated environment such as a union or staff association you have statutory rights. Usually,the citizen enjoys legal protection.

In Adams and Mc Guinness's world,they set aside justice and rules for a mess of Libyan and Middle Eastern pottage of national democracy and  quasi-freedoms assigning the rights of those they held as prisoners by internecine terror and reports to police to the never-never land of unpaid dependents and creditors. As even a child recognises,Irish political independence has been a failure. It has failed to deliver the goods for decades. Not only is the South of Ireland not a law-governed state with ascertainable and verifiable rights,it is NOT capable of developing into a law-governed society.

The South's future lies as part of a larger state (or union of states with different living histories where rights have been overridden and effectively abolished).

Universally,those who have had a Catholic education in this country rarely articulate themselves properly unless they have assistance from outside and the same is true of all countries with a history of sentimental, wishy-washy nationalism and colonialism. Nationalism is a feature of a class or classes which conceals brutal self-interest and which muddled its verbs and syllables.

In Northern Ireland,we need the English as a country with a longer history of radicalism and democracy. The BBC is a necessary corrective to the obscurantism cultivated by nationalist headmen. Those orchestrators of contrary country nonsense have taken their leave of the public stage. They spent too long in prison or in the public eye to talk any real sense.

The organ-grinders of the all-in-this-together kleptocracy are in Belfast and Derry. Noone else gets a look-in to the formation of Sinn Fein 'policies'.

Sinn Fein must ride the crest of ever greater outbursts of mock indignation and moral outrage like a country clergyman or amateur philosopher. By the latter,I mean Richard Boyd-Barret.

The only good ever done in the British Isles was by the British Labour Party in association with a few native social workers and that amount of Southern doctors who you could count on one hand.

Never forget,Irishmen,that it was the Jews of Amsterdam who subsidised the Williamite invasion and the British Crown and the Elizabethan and Cromwellian land settlements which dispossessed the local people. Together,those forces of finance and religion projected us all into a colonial society with its native gods and goddesses. Their place is now being taken by drunks and layabouts who are fit only to be shot with their own dung.

If you want your freedom and peace of mind, don't vote for nationalist or unionist headmen anywhere on the ballot paper unless you are having problems with neighbours. They are good at that and will quickly report the offenders to the proper authorities.

Culture

 A cultured society is one with an independent print and news media owned by its native citizens and indigenous publishing houses with independent facilities for printing which are not dependent on government funding or foreign custom.

The opposite to the print media and real culture such as poetry,song and verse is street drama and naturalistic mimickry. In Africa,natural dramaturgy imitates in speech and manners the hollow call of the macaques. America,too,is full of this offensive,arcane mimickry relayed by barren old maids on television,in theatre and on screen but...

The question will be posed:Would we be better off without drama in such crude, naturalistic settings?

No. Street dramaturgy or hot pursuit is better than no feedback. The companion to street drama should be verbal poke,comedy or laughter.

The 'players'

It takes all sorts to make a world and 'there's nowt as funny as folk '.

My sentinel warnings about street drama and lumpen and unemployed proletarian misrepresentation originates with concern over the connection to the police. The Irish, Dutch,German and French street players are a malign and foreboding force at the present time. Many of the lost souls dragged into street mannafestations are resigned to the fact that "the whip changes but the lash goes on". They vote for intermediaries to the police because it seems that nothing can change prescient reality.

At a world-weary sixty years,I am wont to surrender and declare as I did at nineteen years, "Vamamos, muchachos!" or "We'll take to the hills and raise the clans."

A smooth transition to democracy.....

Let us hope for peace as Ireland aspires to finally take its place among the nations....

In its childish seniority of years and decline, the police force of Northern Ireland seeks to prejudice the wellbeing and safety of casual rapporteurs on crime and drugs so as to have them killed.

It is all well and good for Pope and freedman to say,"Banish misfortune!" but take another look.

Have deaths linked to legal indifference, police cabals and judicial recklessness diminished?

 Ask,"Will unnecessary deaths decline as a result of the election of a new crop of nationalist and Provo M.P.'s?"

Obviously not...medically-induced death and euthanasia is rising . Politicians, priests, police and the journalistic profession ignore this instrument of open terror at their peril. They,too,will face death by what coroners sometimes call medical misadventure (or the intervention of British Government employees of the NHS).

Revolutionary democracy or nationalist socialism?

Neither. What we need is a law-governed state which brings doctors and policemen before the courts to answer charges of criminal negligence,random acts of murder and violent intimidation. Both sets of lawbreakers are profligate killers much worse than the IRA and as bad as each other.

Armies were set up to deal with rioting and civil unrest and the police were set up to deal with thieves and people making a nuisance of themselves on our streets.

In our colonial situation the army are a cause of chronic disorder and the police are the main source of public mannafestations representing nuisance.

A colony is not a modern society nor is a semi-colony. I  refer to a jurisdiction such as the South with its semi-fascist police and Army.

Until the Northerner can be assured that his traditions and reasonably modest social supports will not be diminished by a United Ireland,we are going to stay a colony and the South will never be truly self-governed or a state under the rule of law.

From a highpoint of 13 000 active police and police reserves in 1983-8,the PSNI has now only 4 300 active frontline officers.

The writing is on the wall for partition. What is to take its place?

In many ways we are not ready for an ending of partition,but it will soon be upon us.

The fact of the matter is that except for those Northern Catholics who are afraid in census returns to describe themselves as other than Northern Irish-evidently, they do not want a loyalist putting a brick through their window-there is clearly a Catholic majority in the Six Counties.

The demography of religious affiliation does not entail a majority vote for Irish Unity in a Border Poll but it leads to the conclusion that there will be an agreement over the heads of Northerners for a transfer of the North to the jurisdiction of the South.

Sinn Fein's electoral challenge has faded. Their share of the vote in the South has fallen from 24.5% to 19% overall and their part is now taken largely by Fianna Fail and Fine Gael as petite bourgeois nationalists and Christian socialists. Sinn Fein  have only the country priest and small shopkeeper and urban artisan to support their facile claims to be a party of the poor and marginalised in the South. A party of the poor and marginalised remains a distant prospect North and South.

Fianna Fail is much better suited as a party of delivery and thinking man's nationalism to deliver Irish Unity than Sinn Fein though Sinn Fein comes with a tinge of long-faded radicalism. 

Fianna Fail has the only credible claim in the South to be able to steer a path of industrial growth and social progress in an independent Ireland.

Irish Republicans are what is known as extreme democrats. I think in particular of Tommy Steele and Moira Drumm and Eamann Mc Cann. They believed in shouting their opponents down and raising a loud commotion. Social democrats certainly do not in the North and South of this beknighted country. I think of John Hume,Ivan Barr, Malachy Mc Elholm and Jim Lunny.

Mc Guinness despite his calm exterior often berated others at Army Council meetings to send British soldiers "back in body bags".

The Provos like the Evangelical preacher or roaring and bellowing missioner take no hostages. They leave nothing but devastated towns and cities and ruins behind them because they are thoroughly intemperate people. Despite their professed views both Provo and Sinn Feiner leave a string of unbaptised children in their wakes. Many of them die with their tongue hanging out for want of someone to buy them a drink.

Extreme democrats? Extreme democracy?

We need these people as the churches need Evangelical Preachers and missioners and theologians but think it over when there are too many of them. The fact of the matter is that these extreme democrats have endowed us with a plethora of unnecessary organs of power, administration and arbitration. None of those civil society bodies serves either public interests. Their officeholders have long since succumbed to obsequiousness and servility to authority. Sinn Fein uses its army of retainers and Whitehall its placemen to uphold old fashioned norms and limit the parameters of public debate on the real issues of the day. Only American libertarian devices and hi-tech  implements in the form of the internet and social media offer a release from the strictures of censorship and a colonial assemblage of civil society and republican front groups,not forgetting the brazen apologists for the medical -police terror.

Most of the listening public turn on their radios at news time to get real information on the affairs of the day from people who are not apologists for loyalist and paramilitary gangsters. By the current crop omalign newsreaders, I refer to people such as Bouchier-Hayes,Eve Conlon-Gallagher and 'Grainne Mc Kinney' (Kate Mc Cusker). 

From BBC news broadcasts we hear only apologists for armed members of the population such as the RUC/British Army and the mumblings of spokesmen for cornerboys with concealed knives and knuckledusters. The political spokesmen for the latter know only too well that they are taking their orders from their intermediaries,similar confederates. 

My words of advice

Don't give the BBC news broadcasts any credence and ask for them to be turned off if you are in a public place. BBC broadcasts are the well-trained and meticulously rehearsed voices of British Unionists and Judaism. They are certainly not what they claim to be,namely fair and independent and in any way impartial.

 Their manner is grossly derogatory of Britain's opponents. 

The British Israelite tone is overbearing, presumptuous and oppressive.

 We know from our experience of the British media in this country that any politician who courts the attention of the British media and its government eventually takes the imperialist path. He falls for the wiles of old maids paid to gather information.

Our circumscribed democracy and the BBC, the truth about politicians 

In Northern Ireland I wonder if people in politics and the media can read that revolutionary,far-left but good old-fashioned nationalist publication, the Irish News before they come on air to talk arrant nonsense about compromised political parties having successfully got the vote out.

Did not the Irish News carry a report some years ago that over twenty per cent of those entitled to vote are not on the Electoral Register?

Perhaps as someone whose head has been turned by years of British and Irish Army noise measures,I am suffering from a failure of memory but is the number not now closer to forty per cent...I wonder but "my head is in a spin,my feet don't touch the ground..."...

...Is not voter abstention at elections,those on the electoral rolls who refuse to cast their ballot,over 45%....

I wonder,what is all the chatter concerning growing political mandates.

Cut to the quick and get real,broadcasting organisations,particularly those with input from government agencies. Your broadcasts do not reflect the objective truth no more than those of the Soviet Union represented public opinion and real concerns before 1988.

And that is why progressive revolutions and reactionary turnarounds occur be they political or social,violent or peaceful.

Who allows these news broadcasts and who regulates the content?

It is clear that there is no internal editorial control in Northern Ireland over the contents of Radio Ulster news bulletins and that they are merely a drum-roll for marching feet.

Force must often be used to restrain an active aggressor or a violent thug.

The internment and prison systems grow from a mixture of self-defence and humanistic reasoning.

The application of the basic laws of international defence entails that Israel takes a more measured response to Islamic lawlessness than it has taken. Its reaction is that of an old Salamanic harpie like a Communist of the Stalin or Asiatic type-I am thinking of Putin and his executioners-grossly in excess of anything pardonable or acceptable.

Israel must lock its neck and pull out of Gaza and the Golan Heights.

Publishers and their agents learned their old tricks of proxy exploitation and sham politics from the front groups set up by Russian Military Intelligence in the 1930's when socialism had given way to nationalist socialist and police terror.

The nationalist agitator tries to tie the worker to the tail of the doleman and unemployed,a trick learned from the priest and detective.

Most workers take no part in nationalist street games organised from Sinn Fein offices and civil society centres and dole offices.

They realise that if they become involved with the unemployed and police they risk being beaten up by that parcel of rogues or arrested when striking back in self-defence.

The doleman endangers the very well being of the worker and his family because,as often as not,if he doesn't get his way he will throw caution to the wind and come at his foil with a knife or gun. That is the point of origin of the hooligan movement in Ireland in the 1880's.

It is impossible to teach those inculturated in poverty and idleness and vice any discipline.

In our country,it has become impossible because of the grip of the idle classes to get a working class candidate elected. Sinn Fein encourages the hooligan to vote, a strategy long abandoned by Fianna Fail. The latter sees the danger posed to public order by the criminals professing nationalist views.

If Sinn Fein's claims to speak on behalf of the poor were ignored by society and the media interest groups,we would live in a much healthier,more work-conscious region.

Whatever about crude fripperies such as "Brits Out!" and "Irish Reunification" there is and will not be major support for the Border Referendum.

National liberation is not a socialist demand.

However national independence and self-government are both a democratic demand.

 If Sinn Fein want to stay on message,they must look beyond the end of partition and come up with real plans for social development in a law-governed state.

Socialists,trade unionists and social reformers and internationalists prefer to sit out the conflict of Irish nationalists and English imperialists and allow this carnal fury to vent its loins.

I ndeireadh na dala,it will be the working class which is left with the task of clearing up the mess left behind by people like Barry Mc Elduff,Eamann Mc Cann and Stevie Mc Cann not forgetting that random access madman,Colm Gildernew.

Rock and roll music,taking after secular operas,proliferated Italian and German bombastic melodies and walls of sound in the  post-War years. That pottage of words and sounds turned many decent children from good families into pigs and drunken  pagans.Those unfortunates you meet in the market place,anxious to be fed and willing to tear the head off someone for the privilege of meeting an actor,DJ or stage performer.

In Ireland and Germany,the Italian migrants propagate the modern phenomena,street-crawling and nuisance. Italian poets and lyricists bastardise intelligent verse while having no clean socks to wear because they are never out of fleapits with their loose women or "working out in the gym". We think of those Irish types who they have driven around the bend to take them in tow with tales of boxing matches and sporting events long ago.

In the round,my advice?

Go to the gelateria by all means and to the cafeteria if you wish,but do not go too often since the Italians are everybody's friend and nobody's friend. They idolise the little mamma. They have like the Irish publican "taken in a lot of people"  (Tony Bonham sarcastically on Frank O Reilly,Earl of Essex, Romford Road,East Ham/Epping). The Irish publican abroad is the man delegated by parents to put his fellow countrymen on the proper path for a brief while. He will point out the lie of the land and how to live cheaply and work at your own pace for a reasonable wage in a foreign country and Britain is a foreign country.( Listen to them). The Irish publican is the direct opposite of the Italian therefore, because he puts people wise to the Italian practice of only employing unmarried mothers and underpaid young girls who they intend to bed. Mediation 

The only people who can mediate any real dispute in the countries the Italians go to are the police, judiciary and legal profession and those are the people whose approval the Italians and Catholic priests seek. The latter are the first port of call for any Italian when he moves to another country.

 We say,the Italians are greedy for wealth, acclaim and respectability,the original and 'best' Borghese (bourgeois,the possessing class).

Lost souls. Outdoors duty for policemen and their agents

Amateur dramaturgs, military spies and police detectives post themselves and others at 'keypoints' of towns to artifice so-called 'coincidental' meetings. This activity is carried on in association with applied psychologists and clinical psychologists in government employment. Usually in Enniskillen they are operating under the supervision of the local Health and Personal Social Services Board at Castle Barracks and Coleshill. Anthony and Gabriel control their activities. Both SDLP and Sinn Fein facilitate police activity through the local Police and Community Safety Partnership in the Town Hall.

Because it is soldiers and loose women and pensioners who take part in these street displays of intimidation. The activities have drawn in Sinn Fein politicians and the reactionary milieu of ex-policemen and demobilised soldiers.

Silent military tattoos in the South are organised from Parkgate House in Dublin and by the Ministry of Defence in London and in my locality by the the CID Operations Room in the local police station.Most street players in my vicinity are former soldiers who have been drawn into "the vortex of imperialism" by security bosses and underperforming politicians (Lenin,1916).

Their wages are paid by businessmen and in my locality by intermediaries for government agencies.

Surely, police officers can see where constant surveillance and saturation policing be it by policeman, soldier or security guard is leading...

In Dungannon Ellis took her own life while Alan Johnston departed a number of years ago (2016.Ballymena),both by suicide. Locally in Fermanagh,O Connor of Belleek has taken her own life as has Quinn. All are parts of what Matt Baggot called the "police family".

I say to copper and charlatan who lives off public money without proper authorisation and good cause,"Take a step back from the street scenes which you engineer with the assistance of nationalist headmen and semi-fascists. See the bigger picture. What you are doing is wrong, superflouous and thoroughly evil."

What was really meant by my 'drama' of July-August 1988 .....

My monologue to an empty room in a small suburban house with a shortwave receiver in the house at the bottom of the garden was directed at a neanderthal, female dictator in England,namely Thatcher. I had seen the chaos and ruin and lack of basic rights which she ushered in in her sick failing society.

We say of female dominatrixes in Ireland rudely caolta is gaolta,women in any sort of public endeavour such as nursing, medicine,law and politics.  Pathetic creatures,really,these women. (Their only weapon is moral blackmail, emotional pique, verbal abuse,aggressive catcalling and drama scenes in the scullery.)

That which was being hinted at in the 'world plan' of July-August 1988 (Der Spielplan, Dublin) in a series of oblique characterisations was,of course, anti-feminism. The running commentary was directed at the Irish 'petticoat brigade' of Sinn Fein and the Irish pub scene.

Those nuisances are akin to the idle women and blind guides who brought Italian fascism and Hitlerism to power.

If you prefer a side-shot,a side-by-side comparison to my 'play',think in terms of a rhodomontade of English drama and Irish television skit.

The attempt at literary drama is much better discovered in the plays of Shakespeare, particularly Henry 5, Midsummer Nights Dream,Othello and Hamlet. The skit directed at O Riordain was borrowed from a cruel soap drama.

In the Spielplan of July-August 1988, from insufficient and only passable knowledge, I endeavoured to adapt for drunken assholes such as the Irish soldiers,Germans and American spies a message of Eastern political and economic change.

That change, fundamental and fargoing and thorough,was all in the future in that fateful year. The plan for the East erased any real hopes of lasting international peace and genuine freedom because it was a Western democratic narrative.

The setting of the scene was created by those overpaid burger-flippers,public nuisances and their wives, namely the street-crawlers of the Irish Army. That scenesetting concerned the introduction of three Italian young women to my transitory acquaintance.

Seeing their plea on a noticeboard in Trinity Students Union,I brought the trio to 14 Fortfield Terrace, Upper Rathmines Road Dublin 6. 

I too had sought sanctuary there.

Why the 'drama'?

The Soviet Union whose great achievements I admired and knew a considerable amount concerning needed urgent outside assistance. It had reached a moral and political impasse due to the economic crisis under Kohl in Germany.

My gameplan was an agenda for change, first in the East,then in the West. I was instrumental in bringing 'the post-War international settlement' to an end in that fateful summer.

We can announce this distended 'speech from the dock' in many ways as Der Spielplan, "Is it me you're looking for?", "What is to Be Done-The Sequel", "Ochon, Ochon,Ochon" and as I gamely announced my plan to the Irish-American in the White House, "Round the floor and mind the dresser."

An entree? 

 It ran, "The Boy stood on the Burning Bridge". That evocation was of the tale of Horatius in Ancient Rome when Rome was attacked by its neighbours,the Etruscans.

Somewhere in my distended 'drama',there featured a rejoinder to a Prussian marching song. That double entendres was in truth directed at the Soviet Union at that time. 

The Soviet Union was no less than a merciless and barbaric empire and a prison-house of nations on the lines of Austria Hungary. My song allusion was borrowed from the film documentary concerning genocide. It ran, "Wenn die Deutschen storen,Offnen Sie die Turen....".

I was trying to get others to see things from the perspective of cruelly-abused races and peoples bullied,cajoled and murdered by stronger powers such as Russia. 

The song related to the persecution and the destruction of the Jews. It was inspired by one Srbnik who though shot in the head by retreating German soldiers at Treblinka/ Trebnice survived the war and went to Israel (Shoah,Claude Lansmann,1986,France).

There was an untoward piece of self-parody, the plea directed at the semi-illusory O Riordain,"Mick,do you think I'm a good singer. Would you get me a job in the Peking Opera....maybe again,I could seek employment as a former world planner."

What was being averred to was my solid work record before I began to associate with  the Belfast Provisionals,QUB teaching staff who  hadn't mastered their subject and Irish Army malcontents. The latter were those siren country voices who wanted "factories for the South".

The main thrust of the actions conceived of in this 'play'?

A plan for Germany Unity. The part devoted to German Unity was in recognisance of a German Social Democrat and IG Tiefbau-Vertreter,Georg Seidel  of Deutsche Asphalt of my acquaintance (June 1979-March 1980). Other German country people were forced to leave their homes in former German territories. Seidel had been born in Silesia and forced to migrate west,first to the DDR,then the BRD. Finding a ready welcome on foreign soil from someone who was himself a migrant and longing for home is better rendered in the old Bundeswehr sang," Mein alter Schlesierland.."

Many of the unconnected,incoherent, rambling and prosaic and cantorial caricatures in the tapped monologue were inspired by outline knowledge of Lenin's writings, German militarism's contemporary legacy and English popular songs. (German native themes are learned from old Hungarian melodies,travelling Gypsies and Italian songwriters).

O Riordain's response to my plan of summer 1988 came in The Judgement on 23 December 1991 in the public house on the  corner of Upper Clanbrassil Street and the South Circular Road, Dublin 6). His 'reply' preceded the "construction of the new Ireland" referred to in the drama of my authorship.

It ran,"I set him up with a nice young Jewish doctor."

My real views of Irish Communists, revolutionary socialists and other 'merchants of doom'? 

O Riordain and his fellow travellers were people whose views,opinions and so-called "friends" and "agents" had to be "thrown up onto the scrapheap of history" (Der Spielplan July-August 1988).

Why,so?

Renewal in the East and change of a dramatic type back in 1983 to 1991 was long overdue.

The SAS 'bricklayer" of July-August 1986 acquaintance, Sch'm'uel, had it thus, singing to me an old Jewish lament,in reply to my well-known act,

My true 'reply' to that pair in July-August 1988 was aimed at gaining a monopoly of US investment in Europe for 25 years from delivery . That reply was very fatalistic. It ran,in the lyrics of Phil Coulter,

Many of Britain's social advances since the rise to prominence of the British Labour Party have given rise to the belief by many English people that,"British is best" (national chauvinism,Lenin).

Let those of us in Northern Ireland who had to listen to Thatcher's constant screeching remind the English that their prosperity was built on pillars of plague-ridden and famine-dead and slaughtered.

Those in England who trumpet their social progress since 1945, should remember that it has many downsides such as malingering, ignorance and well-publicised instances of medical misconduct, hospital murder and social parasitism (social chauvinism,Lenin).

I hope that the English saw in Thatcher's vulgar hedonism for the few and austerity for the many,insufferable national chauvinism.

National chauvinism is a closely-linked phenomenon to social chauvinism.

Lenin used the two concepts and others in connection with the political developments in the revolutionary period which overtook the Russian Empire in 1917.

Two of Lenin's concepts familiar today only to perhaps a few dozen on the left are "social patriotism" and "social pacifism".

The philosophical tenet of class against class which colours Russia's Stalinist past

The philosophical proposition which influenced Russian class conflict between 1898 and 1917 in the former Soviet Union that Communists so admired was Marx's concept of bellum omnium contra omnes (Letter to Ruge,1843). This is best translated to Irish conditions as "It's everyman for himself!" (Terry Bolger,1990-1).

 The concepts of  'war of all against all' and class conflict is still very much alive in post-industrial societies.

Romantic idealism and " the Jewish god of peace" (Brecht) does not prevail.

In Marxist theory and in classic political teleology,it must be remembered, if I am not muddying the water,that labour and capital are fundamentally at odds as are worker and poor and professional person and the rich and that one has effectively vanquished the other. This Ireland? Native comparisons 

Sinn Fein were in the 1970's, national chauvinist. 

Under Adams immature leadership,they turned social patriotic. They later turned turtle.

Today, many Sinn Fein spokespersons in the North go with the media flow and are characteristically socially pacifistic. P.A.'s take no firm position on hostilely workplace situations caused by clear and irreconcilable class interests.

Our recent Northern experience has similarities to the revolutionary political  and social trends of the democratic changes in Russia. Engels's concepts of a political revolution are still relevant to our times in Ireland because we may be on the brink of profound political upheaval (Anti-Duhring,1878).

The Ukraine war and the world economy

Sanctions against Russia have brought on a world crisis of revolutionary significance. Unlike the 1980-88 US prohibitions on high-tech exports to the Soviet Union,it may be the West's economy which is heading into a deep crisis. The ruling classes of Western states may be about to alter themselves as governing organisms.

The warning sign of the  Eastern economic and political transformation was widespread police and medical repression in the seventies and eighties.The ratcheting up of police repression and growing economic obsolescence engendered social desperation and political dismay in the Soviet Union and later in Eastern Europe.

So,is there a Western parallel to the Soviet Union in the 1980's?

Very much so!

In the UK,there is a political inability to see the shortcomings of handing the government of society over to an unelected autocracy which is composed of medical screwballs and political looneys.

Left-wing socialism? Northern Ireland and its orientation towards a British -style medical dictatorship 

We say to the misguided old women and political hens who take up lists of names to support doctors as we currently see in parts of Northern Ireland,you are fashioning a noose for your own hanging.

These silly old cows know nothing about the medical profession or the thugs who they incite against medical inmates.

No right-minded person believes in the protracted crying into their cocoa of  boring old farts such as doctors and nursing staff.

Other lessons of the past

In terms of political manoeuvring,Lenin wrote a pamphlet titled One Step Forward,Two Steps Backward in 1902-3 concerning political opportunism. 

In those terms,where does Russia sit today?

Firstly in order of historical appearance during Lenin's literary discourses from Russia came broadly Great Russian Chauvinism. That was followed by a movement  for progress,a trend of agrarian socialism.

Following forward from the late 1890's to the Democratic Revolution of February 1917..

The dominant revolutionary trend in the February Revolution of 1917 was socialist revolutionary politics. Lenin coined the phrase for that of social patriotism to characterise socialists who argued for the continuation of the war against Germany. 

Again,it must be remembered that in November 1918 elections the Socialist Revolutionary Party had three supporters to each Bolshevik. 

In those times of civil war,the Socialist Revolutionary Party and minority social democrats mixed social democracy with imperialist rhetoric.

Are Lenin's concepts still relevant to theorising the world,post-Fall,where national borders are largely stable and no world war has been joined in this nuclear age? 

Apart from Africa where borders are contested,yes.

Russian socialism in a contemporary setting?

Those who see hope for Russian socialism in the Russian  Communist Party and Our Home would be advised to see in that society a case of "Two (or three) steps backward,One Step Away". 

Away?

 Away from peace. 

Three steps backward? 

A sharp lurch back from socialism via social patriotism via social chauvinism to Great Russian Chauvinism.

Democratic and revolutionary socialists say clearly that the Ukrainian War is aggression  and territorial expansionism in the form of the "Special Military Operation", so-called. 

Putin's war follows the traditional course of ethnocentric self-aggrandisement based on false concepts of race and nationality.

A relevant description rooted in the early writings of Lenin for this military adventure? 

Great Russian Chauvinism.

However,Leninist conceptualisation and socialist concepts are not accepted by those in the Duma or broadly acceptable in the contemporary Russian setting.

All parties have abandoned revolutionary liberty and the democratic path to socialism. That freedom is a Western concept and forms the legal foundations of Britain,the US, Germany,France,Italy and Ireland.

The war?

The Great Russian Chauvinism which Lenin railed against prolongs unnecessary human suffering.

The future for social  democracy in a Russian setting?

Russian democracy must renew itself and start once again as in December 1829 at the very earliest,stumbling beginnings.

In the conceptualisation of pure moralists, evil will have its own reward.

In temporal terms,those counselling militaristic and ethnocentric aims will get their full payback with premature or unexpected deaths,even in our own state of Northern Ireland.

If we accept that the Soviet Union retreated from Great Power status in 1989 by its own volition, where does its political status rest now?

Russia was between 1991 and 2022 a national democracy,a self-absorbed political democracy. 

Modern times

In April 2022,Putin embarked on a campaign of aggression based on false concepts of race,nationality and religion.

Sensible observers similarly counter to NATO warmongering that Russia has a right to feel secure within its own borders.

Ireland,too. Neither cause is realistic because of defence inadequacy and NATO's creeping up on Russia.

With Britain's occupation of part of our own country coming to an end and Western aggression threatening Russia's very existence,the time to take a stand for Ireland's territorial integrity and Russian  sovereignty and territorial unity has come. 

In the East, in Eastern Europe and Asia,the die is cast against the neo-colonial class.In the West,the US and many European powers are walking on a nuclear cliff-edge.

In this country,let us all moderate our demands of society and look "not to what our country can do for us,but what we can do for our country" .

Russia,1898.Ireland,2023. Agrarian socialism

Since neoliberalism took hold in Ireland,there is no pooled reward of labour exertions in agriculture such as in the form of cooperatives. In our country,there is only a small residual measure of cooperation in agriculture and dairy cooperation faded with the ghost of Sir Horace Plunkett and the cooperators of the late nineteenth and twentieth century. 

Pat O Connor of Avonmore Foods and Pierce Brosnan of Kerry Foods introduced demutualisation. With that retrograde step came even more intensive 'forced' farming and the introduction of hormones and growth promoters to industrial agriculture. Bertie 'the Rascal' Ahern and that pair and the hung-his-mother middle farmers engineered the breakdown of the agricultural cooperation movement after 1989.

US 'business trade unionism' is a system of sole union recognition,employer-labour arrangement. It contrasts with Anglophone countries free collective bargaining.

English trade union collectivism rather than Irish social consensus or US 'business unionism' holds the upper hand in most progressive anglophone powers.

The big picture.

 The Western world is trying to halt with financial sanctions on Russia and restrictions on China changing trade patterns and the search for cheaper labour-power.

English political forces are trying to guide Anglo-American financial  cartels to play the 'national bankruptcy' card. Politicians in the US seek to use effective import quotas,the manipulation of credit ratings and capital to debt ratios to render Chinese industry uncompetitive and bankrupt Chinese banks and financial institutions.The market will win out because such financial blackmail can only win out against a lesser power not an industrial powerhouse such as China.

A Manifesto for Change in A New Millennium?

Western countries should turn to themselves and their own resources for the solution to their problems. If imperialist predators are not to gain a renewed grip, voters should vote to keep the focus of military measures away from weaker and more vulnerable powers.

An end to international adventurism on both sides and a return to the basic tenets of peaceful, democratic progress!

German collegiality implies a closer tie between workers in the workplace rather than the disassociative "Geselle" as in English  collectivism. The German worker refers to his workmate as "Kollege". "Kamerad" is reserved in Germany for a military relationship or an associate in an enterprise with social revolution in mind as a Communist would refer to a comrade.

In Germany,we say therefore that people are more tightly bound together but that this does not relate to domestic life which is strictly "privat".

In talking about "lay priests", those men and women who translated Lenin's final works in the 1930's imparted the great lesson that a beast such as German fascism or Italian corporatism would stoop to charity-mongering to recruit cutthroats and hooligans as did the Daughters of Charity and Sisters of Mercy in Weaver Street in Dublin in my instance sooner than pay me for what were the fruits of my intellectual labours,namely municipal housing redevelopment schema and what was to become the National Development Plan. The good and pious nuns reckoned that I should endow them with my labours and receive no payment.

The Communists were the orchestrators of the campaign of terror directed at myself. They acted in association with the Gardai. They alone knew where I lived, foremost amongst them being Eugene Mc Cartan (Phibsboro/ Ballymun/ Castlewellan).
